Anyone who remembers playing games on those floppy disks on a Commodore 64 will love the revival of this brand. I remember that commodore was the big rival of apple back in the day. Of course they include an emulator to play all of the old c64 games. If playing labyrinth doesn't bring back some memories then this is probably not the system for you...
Labyrinth video for your viewing enjoyment.

I ate at Nobu in vegas and the black cod miso was probably one of the most amazing dishes I have ever had a chance to taste. I did some research online on how to make it and came across this food blog. Vienna who writes this blog lets both her charisma and love of food show through and they have some great recipes including what I was looking for... black cod miso. I'm going to be waiting for her to start doing some video blogging so we can all watch her prepare some of these tasty dishes.

I have personally ordered from Claflin many times for office medical equipment and they have an excellent customer service department and fast and reliable shipping. They have products for both medical offices as well as products for patients such as scooters. Prices are extremely competitive and often lower than what I have found else where. They have been in business since 1817 and are one of the most well recognized medical supply companies in the healthcare sector.

  • HealthDay

11/19/10

Healthday.com is a news site for the latest medical news for both consumers as well as physicians through their http://www.physiciansbriefing.com/ website. They syndicate their news to other sources including government websites. I like going directly to this site to get the latest evidence based healthcare news and the site is well organized by speciality. It is a great resource for consumers who have a particular concern or disease as they can sign up to receive updates on that particular concern so when there is new information available or a new study, they can read about it.

  • Nutritional Medicine

11/18/10

I highly recommend this book and website for those individuals looking to learn more about how nutrition relates to diseases and health. The book is geared for physicians but I think almost anyone could benefit from this book. Great knowledge base and a valuable addition to anyone's medical library. It covers almost all common diseases from diabetes to eczema and how nutrition influences the disease process and how the foods people consume can aid in the treatment of these diseases.

  • Jarrow Formulas

11/11/10

Many people ask me what brand of supplement I would buy locally and while the brands I typically recommend are only sold through physician offices, I do like Jarrow and people can easily find them at stores such as whole foods or local pharmacies. They have a strong reputation and a wide variety of products.

  • Blue Zones

10/19/10

Journalist Dan Buettner identified 5 Blue Zones where people live the longest in the world and they are
The Italian island of Sardinia
Okinawa, Japan
Loma Linda, California
Costa Rica's isolated Nicoya Peninsula
Ikaria, an isolated Greek island

The website describes why people living in these zones live longer and healthier lives. Definitely a worthwhile read for anyone interested in staying healthy.

  • Ihealthbeat.org

9/24/10

This site focuses on the impact that technology has on healthcare and it does a remarkable job of covering everything from the latest EMR news to telemedicine. Their newsletter is perfect for keeping up to date with the latest news and advances in technology and healthcare.

  • Tupalo

9/15/10

There have been many companies trying to do a really good job of local business search and reviews. Citysearch tried this years ago and it seemed like Yelp in the end has most of that market right now. Tupalo along with their partner citygrid media now has 1 million listings for US businesses and appears to be going up against yelp. They will have to acquire many users to reach the level of cult following that yelp has but they seemed to have done well in Europe so we will see if they can pull this off. Currently they do not have many reviews that i would look at in the SF area, but they are just getting going and I would be interested to hear what experiences local business have with them. The yelp reviews from business owners is highly variable with some loving the new business by yelp and others calling yelp the new mafia.

  • ScreenScape.net

9/14/10

Very useful application that is great for small businesses. They offer for just 9 dollars a month the ability to easily create dynamic content to advertise a business. You can upload videos, power point videos or anything to show to potential customers. Then you can share these videos with businesses that are doing the same thing. The main advantage in being with partnering with other businesses. Great concept at a reasonable price. I'm definitely telling my friends who own businesses about this idea.

  • IM-HISTORY

9/3/10

The last time I even remotely cared about anything related to the subject of history was over 25 years ago and even then I probably barely passed those classes. Never really understood why "old" people cared about history. For some reason now I find myself watching the history channel and seeing things that happened decades ago as interesting. Definitely a nice website and even if you don't care about history, watch Stan Lee's superheroes

  • Cellulitedx

8/3/10

This is the world's first genetic test for cellulite and is made by the same company that makes the genetic test for hair loss in men. Cellulite is largely genetic with some people having a far worse case than others. This test allows people to see if they have the genetic predisposition to getting cellulite during the course of their lifetime. Nowadays there are cellulite treatments using everything from radiofrequency to infrared light treatments and it is possible that these treatments if used early on could delay and limit the progression of cellulite. Interesting concept and as the treatments for cellulite become better, I bet this type of genetic testing will catch on.

  • DrugTopics

6/23/10

One of my main resources to get the latest news on the pharmaceutical industry and drug related topics. They have the latest developments by both big pharma and biotech companies.

  • The Guild

6/18/10

Anyone who has ever played world of warcraft should just watch a couple of these episodes... hilarious. It started in 2007 on the internet only and now is being distributed by microsoft and netflix. Clever use of in game verbage and the actress Felicia Day does an amazing job of portraying a "hot" yet nerdy WOW player. She wrote and produced this internet hit which has received more than 50 million views. Quite a feat and the show is very well written.

  • Vitamin D Council

6/7/10

Most people still believe that you can get most of your nutrients from the food you consume, but the latest medical research on taking supplements such as Vitamin D have shown the medical benefits of taking certain supplements. It turns out that vitamin D really isn't a true "vitamin" and that term was coined back when scientists didn't really understand the role of these chemicals. Vitamin D is really a type of hormone and often needed in the body in larger amounts than doctors previously thought. I recommend everyone to read this website and see if it may apply to you. Talk to your primary care doctor about taking vitamin D as a supplement and possibly getting your levels measured.

  • Zeno Corporation

5/26/10

For anyone who has acne I would recommend taking a look at this product. It is a very simple device that heats up the pimple and then kills the acne causing bacteria. It might not work all of the time, but if you can get to the pimple in the early stages you have a better chance of killing it off.

  • MJH Life Sciences

5/25/10

Often times patients want to know where they can find a medical search engine rather than relying on google to find them medical information written by professionals. Searchmedica.com is a nice search engine and while it is designed for professionals, it can still be very valuable for patients researching a particular disease or condition. It might take more expertise to really understand the articles, but at the same time it provides a higher level of information for those who are interested in it.

  • Philips Healthcare

5/25/10

I have always been impressed by Phillip's commitment to home and consumer healthcare medical devices. From home cardiac monitors to their impressive array of asthma care devices I would recommend anyone with any chronic disease to see what this company has to offer to help them manage their condition.

  • Lexy

5/19/10

Bite sized audio news delivered for free to your cell phone is perfect for when you are standing in line or want a break from listening to your music. Even better are the comedy shows that are available on lexy as well. Check it out and sign up for just a couple audio clips to see how you like it at first. Careful not to let them text you too often as that can get annoying.

  • Torchlight

5/15/10

Torchlight comes from the makers of the diablo series of games and has the same addictive feel to it. If you like diablo, you will like this... pure twitch fest. The download free trial only lasts for 2 hours, so you can demo it for free before you buy it. For 20 bucks it a killer deal. No online play and only single player but well worth it. This will keep those waiting for D3 happy until that release day.
