About Me

Just a guy. Overly educated; two college degrees (but I'm still functional). Ex-supermarket assistant manager, ex-sailor, ex-electrician, ex-electronics technician, ex-speech therapist. I'm not sure what I am now. My college professors said I was “restless.” Physically hideous. On a scale of Quasimodo to Brad Pitt, I'm closer to a bell-ringing hunchback. I love dogs. They provide two things you can't get from people: love and loyalty. Did that come across as bitter?

I've been with WritersCafe since May 2015 and it has been a mostly positive experience. I should say until recently. There are some very thin-skinned people out there. There is a lot of teen-aged angst poetry and way too many mass shooting stories. I really hate zombies.

If you are active and read and review other members you will have a better time there. If you just write and think the world will praise your genius, well, you may be disappointed. I review more than I get reviewed, but that seems to be the norm there. Overall, I'm satisfied with the site.
