It seems like the big publishers are running scared. They will not even consider reading, much less publishing authors who do not conform to their formulas for success. This is much like Hollywood films in the old days rejecting creativity in favor of formulaic success... thus opening the floodgates for independent film makers to take over. That's what's happening with the big publishers forcing authors over to something called createspace.com where an author copies and pastes text and creates the title online, edits it as many times as he wants. And publishes in both ebook format and paperback copies on demand... for free!

How can you not love LL Bean? They truly stand behind their products and their products (although a bit stuffy) are high quality. WARNING - LL Bean has undergone a transformation from outfitting Maine woodsmen to mincing around Deer Isle millionaires dressed in hoity toity 40 years behind the times fashions. I can only imagine who their designers are.

I ( and most Americans) quit netflix when the skunbogger C. E. O. Tried to double the rates. But they beagled down and said they were sorry and showed the c. E. o.'s heart in a jar... and went back to providing quality at-home movies. I could almost quit Comcast except for my addiction to sports and MSNBC. But with reverend Al gone from the 6 PM slot. I don't know. I may pull the plug.

There are several prize winning writers here including Dale Dapkins who is the ONLY back to back winner of the Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition (a blind read. And, yes, Lorian is the grand daughter of Papa Hemingway!

If you like fantasy and humor, then do yourself a favor and check out this new fantastic novel titled AMERICAN BROCCOLI. They're talking about it on Public Radio in Maine... Where the first broccoli plant has crossed over and lives the life of a human/ The story is told by a 14 yr old girl (the broccoli's computer geek step daughter) using computer auto-write programs where the daughter dials up the style of famous writers. For example, several chapters are written in the style of Hemingway, Hunter Thompson, J. D. Salinger, Dr. Suess and others. Seriously, you can't put it down.

I have to say. Amazon is okay. I'd like to see them pay their employees better, but hey! Amazon's okay.

Until I discovered this private small publisher site for BOTH ebooks and paperbacks I was getting disgusted with Publishing Dominance of the same authors (some good some mediocre) over and over and over. Don't believe me? Check out the repetition of the same Big name publishers on the NYTimes best seller list. Over and over and over the same old same old. I hope my review helps you explore
