I paid these people $199 way back end of April to file a small claims case against my landlord in Oregon. Around mid-May they sent me papers typed up, some little errors, but I sent them back immediately not wishing to slow things down. A few weeks later I emailed to find out what was going on and they told me to just wait - it often takes the court several months to respond (I was to find out today that they filed and set a case number the day the court received it). Thing is the court did not receive the papers until AUGUST 17th and all the delays were simply the part of Civiltree or their apparent successor, legalmd.com, which the court clerk said was listed as the payer of the filing fee. Civiltree claimed to me that they had filed the papers months ago. I now see that both companies are associated with the same person in the San Fernando Valley, CA. Now, the only reason they get one star (well, not allowed to give zero) is that they did file my claim, albeit FOUR MONTHS LATER, and they made no indication they were planning to serve the defendant, which I paid them to do. The websites for civiltree and legalwebmd appear to be non-existent. I will be contacting my credit card company for a chargeback. I cannot recommend this "company" at all. I kick myself for not doing this myself.
