Using my original hotel reservation, I clicked the link to review my itinerary. I wanted to change my reservation from 1 room to 2 rooms. I followed a couple of links to where I could update from 1 to 2 rooms - this was on the same day we were arriving at the hotel. Turns out I ended up with 2 reservations - the original plus a second reservation for 2 rooms. After spending over an hour on the phone, neither the hotel nor Expedia will help me. I have worked in technology all my life, and UPDATE means to change something, not create something new. I am FURIOUS! I will never use EXPEDIA again - very poor website design.

I have been using Amazon Prime more and more, with products ranging from an ironing board to a tongue scraper, a Kindle to a golf watch. With careful research, I have received the quality I expected. Can't beat the convenience of having products delivered to your door!

I admit I made a mistake in booking tickets for 4 people. By the time I recognized the problem, I ended up in a Kafkaesque hell.

Problem #1
My son's ticket needed to be changed. Since it was more than a date/time change, I was told I would be charged $150 CAD by FlightHub, plus $500- $600 CAD by the airline. And on top of that, I would get nothing for the existing ticket, and have to buy a new more expensive ticket. Duh! I told them the math didn't add up! So I didn't pay to cancel the ticket, and booked the new ticket elsewhere. So neither Flighthub or the airline will be able to resell the faulty ticket.

Problem #2
I had to change my mother-in-law's outbound ticket (she's 87 years old and could not travel on her own.) Since I was only changing the date of her outgoing flight, I didn't lose the value of the existing ticket, but again had to pay $150 CAD to Flighthub, plus $500- $600 CAD to the airline. I finally got it sorted out (or so I thought), after a couple of hours on the phone.

Then the next day, they called me to tell me the airline had changed the fee (about $20 more). OK, I sucked it up, and thought I was done. Next day, same issue, with a slightly lower fee. Next day, I get an email saying it is urgent I call them. After a lengthy phone call, it turns out they didn know how much the airline was charging.

It is now 8 days after the original change "was made", and it turns out it is still not official. The airline has now changed the return flight ($#*! happens). I was notified of this change yesterday (after 3.5 hours on the phone), and pointed out that a 50 min layover in Boston in January (with a change in terminals) did not make sense. I was told that it was no problem, since the airline had approved. Today (day 8), they call me to tell me the airline won't approve the layover, so, after another hour on the phone, the return flight was rebooked with a longer layover. Now I have to wait for the revised eTicket (in approx. 2 days), before I can book the originally requested change! I can't understand this level of ineptitude. It is obviously not the poor folks working at the call centre, since I have dealt with many of them by now and keep running into the same wall.

Needless to say, regardless of price, I will not be using Flighthub again

Two days later, and my problems have been addressed. After my review here on SiteJabber, FlightHub assigned a problem solver to my account. Ticket modifications have now been made and reissued, costs are less than previously quoted, and I was even provided with a good option for my son's cancelled ticket.

So I am very pleased with my dealings today - too bad it took 10 days and an online complaint to get there. I have upgraded my original rating from 1 star to 2 stars.

If you have any problem, the maximum you can expect is some irrelevant template answer in email....
