We typically use Seventh Generation or Cloud diapers, and always without issue. However, twice in recent months, our Target has been out of those brands and we have purchased a package of Honest diapers. Both times my son has developed an irritating rash in the waistband area on his back and sides. The rash appears a couple days after we begin using Honest diapers and disappears when we stop using them. The only time I have had to use diaper cream on my son in his two years of life has been when we are using Honest diapers.
I purchased Honest diapers, believing the marketing that they are free of harsh chemicals and skin irritants, and better for baby. Apparently not. I am highly disappointed that twice now I have wasted money on these diapers. I know I am not the only one who has experienced this with Honest as a quick Google search revealed other parents complaining about this as early as 2013 (and probably earlier). Why has nothing been done to remedy the situation? Does Honest really care so little about babies that in eight years the company has failed to make an effort to do better?
Honest seems to me to be just another Johnson & Johnson, concerned only with profit and intentionally ignoring the harm its products are causing. I find this especially disdainful when it involves babies and children too young to speak up for themselves.
