I've been a member of care.com for 6 years and their website has become horrible. I pay $160/year so I can post a job for my 17-year old daughter with cerebral palsy. Care.com has to approve my ad and the area were I'm posting it. They will deny my job posting because it does not fall within their guidelines. They refuse to allow me to post under childcare because she is special needs. They refuse to let me post under senior care because of her age. The best help I have hired has been regular babysitters but because my child is confined to a wheelchair they are only allowing me to post in special needs. This is discrimination against people with mobility issues. There is someone at care.com making judgement calls on who is best qualified to care for my daughter. Isn't this a place where potential jobs can be put in front of potential employees? Isn't it the parents place to make the decision on who might do a good job for their child? Don't potential employees have a right to make the decision of who they can care? I tried calling to get my job posting approved and after holding for over 30 minutes I was finally connected to a lady I could not understand and who could not comprehend the issue. When I asked for manager I was told it would be a process. I tried emailing and have gotten two automated responses. I'm cancelling my membership and going elsewhere.
