I am in a medical training program and have no time to go shopping. I would buy fresh food and quickly realized I did not have enough time to go shopping. I average 4-5 hours of sleep every night. All that to say I don't have time for this nonsense.
The food is vegan, and it tastes great. Woohoo! The first delivery was a day late, no big deal because as long as it reached me within the freshness window the food was okay to eat. My second box was even later, delivered outside the freshness window and warm (it is not refrigerated for the entire trip, just cool packed). They refunded me and apologized, even applied $38 towards my next box. Okay, awesome. My next box the shipping company lost shipping numbers for a large area of Purple Carrot customers so it looked like it wasn't even shipped. It arrived on time (ironically). I've been waiting for my 4th box and it is now outside my freshness window but wait! It arrived! It is supposed to be delivered to my door but isntead it was delivered to a secure locker. I could tell which locker was mine because it was the one with a puddle of liquid coming from the locker. The cool packs exploded on the spoiled food, the delivery person attempted to use ONE paper towel to clean it up, then just left it.
Now I have a box of spoiled food with the bottom dripping on me, a community secure locker room I have to clean up, I don't have food for the week, I'm short $130 (10 meals), and I have a Diagnostic Medicine final tomorrow morning. I sent another message to Purple Carrot through my account - it was seen today but no one responded.
They're going to say it is because of COVID-19 (like they did last time). No. The shipping facility is 30 minutes from me and they received it with plenty of time to load it for the correct delivery date. They make the food in Las Vegas area which is 3.5 hours from me. I work in the medical field and I deeply understand the difficulties of the novel coronavirus on everyday life, but we are in month 9 of the virus. Kate Spade shipped earrings to me within 48 hours from New York. If Purple Carrot continues to offer a time-dependent service during COVID, they need to be held accountable.
