I feel compelled to write a review of the Elite Martial Arts Academy of Colts Neck. My six year old son Jaydon has been taking classes there for just over 8 months and his almost four year old brother Jonas just started as well. Our family could not be more pleased with the EMA organization! I have to tell you that I was initially very skeptical about the validity of martial arts classes for kids this young. I thought that martial arts training should not start until students were at least 14 years old, but my wife pushed to have Jaydon start when he was four. We tried two different dojos and I was very disappointed with the staff and teaching style and Jaydon never became fully engaged. Against my better judgement, my wife pushed again, and we enrolled Jaydon in a six week trial at EMA. The ability of Sensei MJ, Deshi Omar, and the Joshus to engage the children and keep the atmosphere fun while at the same time teaching them the discipline and focus warranted by martial arts is truly amazing. Jaydon excitedly attends class four to five times per week and Jonas goes about three times per week. They each generally attend each other's class to observe and support, it is truly a wonderful family experience. I have and will continue to recommend EMA of Colts Neck to anyone I know who has a child interested in studying martial arts, getting in great physical shape, learning focus and discipline and having a great time while doing it!
