In an effort to save a few dollars I purchased an HTC Droid Eris Android 3G Smartphone from ReCellular on September 15,2013 through ebay at what I felt was a good price, $43.95 with free shipping. I would have happily paid the conventional shipping fee had I realized the item would otherwise take 5 days to reach me. I finally received my phone on the 20th only to discover the phone was shipped without a battery. I work as a livery driver and I needed this type of phone to interact with my GPS unit so had been making due without it for several days. At six o'clock on Friday night I drove 20 miles to Battery Plus and purchased a battery for the phone I'd just purchased for $39.99. Once I got the phone working I learned that this dealer also failed to supply an SD card which is necessary to make many of the phone's features function so I also had to purchase that as well.Of course I complained to the dealer through ebay's resolution center. I sent a copy of the battery receipt and asked that they pay it as their shipping error caused the problem. Someone from ReCellular named Jackie responded saying that they would be happy to send me the battery but would not pay a 3rd party retailer. As ReCellular's shipping error cost me time, additional money and gasoline I don't think that my request to simply pay for the battery is unreasonable.
