Verified site experience

I've been trying to use Picturelife for almost two years now and it has been an increasingly frustrating experience. I have literally spent weeks uploading my 15,000 + photos to the picturelife.com site and the site has never once indicated that the upload is finished. It is impossible to tell which photos have been uploaded and which have not. There is no customer support for the website, desktop app or smartphone app. Every time I try to use the site there are problems that are not accurately addressed in their "Help Center" documentation or video tutorials. For example, the site lists "instructions" for downloading photos but the instructions reference an "Info Menu" that does not exist on the "Album Page." After trying the instructions and finding them useless, I went to the "Tutorials," where I got an error message saying that the page was no longer available. I have had these problems over and over and now I have thousands of photos stored at a remote location and no way to get them back or erase them. I purchased a new computer recently and, in the process of transferring data from my old computer, I lost an album of photos. Picturelife indicates that my missing album is there but, again, I have no way of downloading them. I've sent Picturelife customer service three emails about this problem and they have never answered. I would call but they do not have a customer service phone number anywhere I can find. I know that Picturelife was bought out last year so I wonder if the service has been abandoned.

At times, I have kept a shop on etsy.com and have used etsy.com for unique purchases for years but their more recent customer service is appalling. With the addition of their new app, they are refusing to allow customers to choose how they will pay for items. They REQUIRE the use of Pay Pal if you have a Pay Pal account. Since this is 2015 and I am residing in the USA, I have the RIGHT to pay how I wish. In addition, there is nowhere on the etsy site that allows one to provide them with feedback or to ask them questions. This is a current national trend and it signals consumers that the company has become too concentrated on GREED. Finally, much like ebay, the sellers on etsy.com charge exceedingly high shipping fees to disguise the true price of their items, a dishonest and unethical trick at best. Most people use etsy.com because it is a way for artists to market their goods without high fees and overhead. This turn toward the dark side SHOULD cause artists and concerned others to look elsewhere.

Not Professional, Timely or Supported
GotFreeFax.com is an online fax tool that allows you to send a quick, free fax by uploading one to three pages to their site which is then automatically faxed to your recipient, for free. You are not given the option of emailing them your pages/file, you have to upload it to their site. For a small fee, you can send a larger fax or you can buy future fax pages for a few dollars. GotFreeFax.com works for simple, one to three page faxes that do not have to appear professional, are not time critical and do not require technical support from GotFreeFax.com. I have used GotFreeFax.com for these types of faxes and they have worked adequately. However, if you wish to send a fax with: more than three pages, has to be received in a timely fashion or has to appear professionally produced, you are on your own.

GotFreeFax.com provides only cursory user information and no technical support. They do not list a phone number anywhere on their website. If you send them an email or use their online, feedback, form, they take hours, days or forever to respond. I purchased their One Hundred Pages for $9.95, option and successfully sent a couple quick faxes to my lawyer, who did not care about how the pages looked. A few months later, I had to fax an eleven page fax to a financial institution. The financial institution emailed me a pdf packet of forms to fill out and I had to attach a few pages to the packet.

I completed the forms and gathered the attachments. I scanned them all to make them digital. Then GotFreeFax.com failed me. My first problem was that, even though I filled in my login information, and they acknowledged it, their input page did not change from the three page/file free, format. I spent two hours trying to figure out what they expected me to do. I put all the pages in a file folder and tried to upload the file but it would not. I tried loading three pages at a time and that did not work. I sent them an email. No answer. I sent them one of their feedback forms. No answer. I waited overnight and tried again. No answer.

As a last resort, I opened a word processing text file and inserted each page one-by-one into a. Doc formatted file. This, of course, caused the pages to look less than professional, since the lines of the original pages were evident and the pages appeared grey against a white background, making it look like just what it was, a cut and pasted Hail Mary. I then tried to upload this new document. It took about seventeen minutes to upload. All the time it was uploading, I had no idea if it was working since GotFreeFax.com does not provide any type of upload progress icon. After another 20-25 minutes, I did receive a Fax Sent Successfully, email.

If you are willing to spend hours learning their system through trial and error and can remember the process you discovered until the next time you need to send a fax (or take the time to make notes and put them where you will be sure to find them the next time you need to send a fax) GotFreeFax.com may work for you. If you have neither the time, patience or willingness to work for GotFreeFax.com for free, I recommend that you look elsewhere for your online faxing needs.

I wrote a review of Groupon some months ago and have had significant response. I quit using Groupon for several months but went back today to make a purchase and see if perhaps they have improved. They haven't. I tried to order a simple cellphone case and had to cancel the order twice because their computer kept inserting the wrong shipping address. To remedy this, I started an online chat. This is a transcript of that chat:

This window requires Javascript support. Please enable scripting.

[me] There are incorrect addresses on the pop-up shipping address list. I want them deleted. How do I do that?

[Maychelle M]

Thank you for contacting Groupon. My name is Maychelle M.

[Maychelle M] Hi Patrica.

[Maychelle M] I'm sorry about that.

[Maychelle M] Don't worry, I am here to help you to find out what is the best resolution for your concern.

[Maychelle M] May I ask for the name of the deal?

[Maychelle M] When did you purchase the deal?

[me] Also, the shipping address when I use the app on my iPhone is incorrect. How do I change that?

[me] It has nothing to do with a purchase.

[Maychelle M] May I ask with the complete shipping address?

[me] What?

[me] Your question does not make sense.

[me] There is a list of several addresses. Most of them are addresses I shipped to once. I want them deleted because I have to keep canceling orders because your system sends items to addresses that are not mine. It pays NO attention to the default shipping address.

[Maychelle M] Please give me a minute to check it on my end.

[me] How do I delete the addresses? Permanently.

[me] This should be simple.

[Maychelle M] I'm sorry but we are not able to remove that.

[me] Then I want you to erase me completely from your computer.

[Maychelle M] One moment please. What is the name of the deal?

[Maychelle M] Upon checking on your account you have multiple address here.

[Maychelle M] May I know what address are we going to remove?

[me] Stop reading information from several chats at the same time. You are confusing information between them.

[me] All of them but 9990 E Spurr Lane, Prescott Valley, AZ 86315

[Maychelle M] There are other address showing here.

[me] One shipping address. The one in Prescott Valley. The
Billing address is in Florida.

[me] That's why I want them removed.

[me] Again, stop reading information from several chats at the same time. You are confusing information between them.

[Maychelle M] Okay.

[me] Hello? Are you there?

[Maychelle M] Yes.

[me] Is there a supervisor I need to call to get this done?

[Maychelle M] I'm sorry but I currently can't connect you to a chat supervisor. However, we should be able to assist you over the phone by dialling in *******777.

[me] Then I will call.

Well, I called and the young man on the phone also told me that they cannot remove the incorrect addresses. Now, anyone who has half a brain and has used a computer knows that there is NOTHING THAT CANNOT BE ERASED FROM A DATABASE. So I asked to speak to a supervisor. He put me on hold and never came back. The bottom line is that this company has no business ethic, no true customer service and will do anything to steal money from you. Once I get this cellphone case I will be trying to get them to remove me entirely from their system. PLEASE BEWARE OF GROUPON.
