Dillard's consistently provides a great consumer experience though selection, customer service, quality and value!

  • Kohl's

Most of us reason that true diversity is equal representation within the population. But not Kohl's.

It seems Kohl's overwhelmingly omits white people in their advertisements. Bear with me.

In Kohl's online ads today, they featured 23 faces of which only 1 person was Caucasian. That sole white person was female. There were zero white men in this ad. Ask yourself why they would omit relatable images in its ads for over 50% of USA shoppers. Do they hate whites? Do they believe white people ran out of money? Does this strategy somehow contribute to a better society or is it just a kneejerk attempt to bandwagon on a current social trend.

Peeking behind the curtain, Michele Gass, Kohl's white female CEO filled 100% of her top seven executive positions with only white people, of which five are white men. Hmm… big on white buddies at the executive level while publicly distancing themselves from anything white and/or conservative. What a bunch of dopes...

Like many companies today Kohl's apparently believes consumers are too gullible to see past their facade.

Someone should advise Kohl's to stay away from politics as it will surely bite them later. Considering their stock price is already stagnant, Kohl's will hopefully come to realize they can't game loyalty.

Tip for consumers:
Ask Kohl's to focus on business and to stop annoying its customers. :)

  • Champs

2/5/21

Champs (Foot Locker) CEO Richard Johnson launched a sales campaign targeted at kids and defined it as "a purpose of empowering and inspiring youth culture."

This complaint is solely about the inappropriate music we heard playing loudly over the Champs intercom during our shopping visit where the song lyrics liberally dropped F-bombs and MF-bombs. Keep in mind kids have to enter Champs stores to try on shoes so parents can't just leave them at home. Plus, this store is located in a mall next to other merchandisers where families also shop.

When I complained to the checkout person, she said "It doesn't bother me." When I asked the manager about the music, he said "Corporate controls the music programming".

What a shame that CEO Richard Johnson feels his higher purpose includes using profanity to "empower and inspire" impressionable children. A 2019 Forbes magazine article ends with a Johnson quote, "We have to really think about how we honestly put the customer at the center of everything we do and say, 'Hey, we get it.'"

No Richard, you really don't.

Tip for consumers:
Be aware that young children will be exposed to horrible language while shopping at Champs or Foot Locker.

This complaint is directed at Foot Locker because it's the parent company to Champs Sports.

Prior to posting this complaint, I researched Foot Locker to understand their philosophy, and in doing so discovered that CEO Richard Johnson launched a sales campaign targeted at kids and defined it as "a purpose of empowering and inspiring youth culture."

Although their prices are quite high, I have purchased a lot of shoes from Champs for my young kids over the past few years.

  • Bed Bath & Beyond

2/1/21

I'm saddened with Bed Bath & Beyond's mixing of politics and business, including the PC way in which BBBY messaged the My Pillow fiasco to the public. In this weird and hopefully temporary cancel culture, it seems certain businesses believe it's in their best interest to integrate the dubiously media-pumped political frenzy into their executive decisions instead of focusing on healthy business practices. BBBY like many companies has fallen victim to this fickle phenomenon. With BBBY's long-term downward trend (35% stock price decline over the past 5-years), can they really afford to jeopardize their consumer lifeline?

  • Menards

I don't mind mandatory mask wearing although I feel Menards is exploiting the situation by not selling at cost since they are the ones forcing the policy. What I do mind is them posting a security guard inside the entrance to intimidate customers not wearing a mask. I walked through the front door without a mask with the expectation of making a beeline to the returns counter to buy one, and watched a very big rent-a-cop glaring at me as if I were a criminal. It was intimidating and unnecessary. If Menards wants to attract and retain customers, my advice would be to give customers friendly directions rather than acting like you're ready to taze them. Right?
