About Me

If you're considering requesting a credit card balance transfer, read my stories for the pros and cons of this option. One of the biggest personal finance rules when it comes to credit cards is to pay your balance in full, every month! However, things happen, certain circumstances can prevent you from making full payments, and you can find yourself easily stuck in credit card debt.

How I Can Help

Consumers who wish to transfer the amounts owed to a credit card, with a significantly lower promotional interest rate and better benefits, generally make credit card balance transfers. A balance transfer card is a real credit card that offers a very low introductory interest rate for an already fixed promotional or introductory period (1.99% for example and six months respectively, for example).

Having a low score can feel like being stuck in a pit of your own making with no way to dig yourself out. You can't qualify for the best credit cards or personal loans, so you have to settle for a credit card for bad credit—complete with burdensome interest rates and fees.

Tip for consumers:
While the Total Visa Credit Card can give you access to an unsecured credit card even if you have poor credit, its multiple fees make it a very expensive option. Because those fees are non-refundable, you’re likely better off with a secured credit card. Over time, you can improve your credit and qualify for a regular unsecured card. When you do, you can get your security deposit back, saving you hundreds of dollars over using the Total Visa Credit Card.
