Be Aware !! Dollar Rental Car at the Oklahoma City Airport will scam you.
I have rented cars at least 100 times and never had any issues with many different car rental companies. 4 days ago I had scheduled some meetings and went online to try and rent a car. First choice that came up was Dollar Rental with unlimited mileage etc.... I don't know about anyone else but when you rent a car so many times(or even for the 1st time may be) you obviously don't read the few pages with the small print and just click agree and check out.
Well, MISTAKE!! that's when they get you.
My wife dropped me off at the Airport rental car building at 6:00 am and left to go to work knowing that I will pick up my rented car and be on my way to my meetings as always. I showed up to the Dollar rent-A- Car at the Oklahoma City Will Rogers Airport and presented my ID and credit card to pick up the car. Then this lady started warning me about any scratches that may happen I will be responsible for because I opted for an online insurance and not the insurance they offer at the counter. Also was warning (almost threatening me) not to go beyond the bordering states of Oklahoma and that's where my issue was. I was going to an important meeting in Chicago. AT this point I am late to get to my meetings, I have no ride to go back to my home to pick up my own car and it was too late to try to rent from another company. I am like, I would rather go to my meetings and deal with this when I get back or lose my career. My total rental for the car when I checked out on line was $174.00 roughly but when I got back I was charged close to $700.00 Yes, $700. I have tried to reason with the manager but they will not budge which tells me that they are not banking on customer satisfaction and repeat business, they are banking on scamming people and charging one price at check out online and once you are committed, they will prey on you and take advantage of you.
I will never ever rent a car from Dollar regardless of the offer, price or any other crap they may offer. I am still going to contest the charges with my credit card and turn them to the better business bureau. I feel bad for the company workers because if they treat customers like this I couldn't imagine how they would treat their employees. I can tell by the way employees talk to customers.
