Hopefully my experience causes some to think twice about purchasing off eBay. I had been an 18 year "loyal" customer per eBay and never had any issues, but this one time that I did, eBay let me down and I've now closed my account over their lack of concern about how their approach negatively impacts the customer. Specifically, after accepting an offer from one of their sellers for a reduced price on the item I was interested in, I immediately paid the $170.70 I was responsible for and the item was never delivered. I contacted the seller since I'd received notice the order was "delivered to my mailbox" by the USPS but the package was not in my mailbox. The seller informed me I should contact the post office but I advised him he had all the details and it made more sense that he do so. Well all he did was call the post office to confirm the package was delivered. He did nothing more. He never insured the package either, just took the cheapest most unreliable route to deliver a package without a care for whether it could be lost or stolen. I reported the matter to eBay and requested that they step in, which they did. However, they found in the seller's favor VERY QUICKLY because the post office CONFIRMED delivery. At this point I know there's something fishy going on with either the post office or my mailman because this is the second package that they confirmed was delivered but the package was not in my mailbox. I had the option to appeal eBay's decision and I did. EBay literally returned a response within an hour or so reiterating their earlier decision. There was no recourse after that and now I'm out 170.70 because a seller chose to use the most unreliable and questionable form of delivery without insuring the item and because eBay does no more research than to review a situation high level before rendering a decision. They do not investigate anything and they clearly don't want to be bothered with these claims. Their dispute resolution and appeal process is an absolute joke. Lessons painfully learned.

How I wish I could give this place zero stars. Would definitely not recommend this off campus housing to anyone. Speaking from personal experience, every attempt made to get in touch with anyone there prior to moving our son in went unanswered. On the day of move in, we reported concerns to the Assistant Director about the unsafe living arrangements -she agreed and never did a single thing to assist us despite her statement that she would follow up with us. She's a total joke- when the Assistant Director makes a commitment and later ignores every single call and email-the only option that remains is to retain an attorney. There is no excuse for her failure to follow up. I hope my review causes people to reconsider living here-to date, my request for a refund has not been responded to-no surprise-they don't respond to any form of contact ever! Instead we were informed we had no choice but to place the room on the sublet list and until someone is found, I'm responsible for payment. No one wants the room of course and all of a sudden there's a "waiting list"- yeah right. It's been two weeks-no way anyone wants that room- lies, lies, lies. Just shameful! There are way better options - move on and let my review serve its purpose.
