Ever get one of those pesky calls from an 800 number or wonder who it was? This free site has come in handy several times when curiosity got the best of me and I just had to find out who it was calling. It features comments from other folks who got the same call, most times on the same day I got a call.

  • SendEarnings

6/9/18

This is a very slow way to earn money from surveys & reading emails. Only pays after reaching $30.00. It takes forever to earn points, at 2 cents per email or time-consuming 25 cents surveys, and most of the 'free offers' are useless or spam. You can get more points from other sites for clicking buttons. SendEarnings is a very poor waste of time.

  • 123movies

Looking for a site to watch new release movies brought me to 123movies, but clicking on any link will open a malware or spam page. Closing the infected page out before it loads in your browser can save you some frustration & aggravation, because once it loads, it's hard to defeat. This site has many alias top-level domains at. Com,. In, etc. If you can avoid the malware, it's possible to watch or download movies still playing in theaters, and older titles as well.

If you don't mind a colorful flash site with webpages that load slowly with lots of bells and whistles, this site won't bother you. But trying to navigate the myriad of features, shops, contests, videos, and articles can be a challenge even for the most patient of visitors. Only visit if you can defeat the urge to not just forfeit your time.

  • YouMail

Just signed up for the free version on my iphone. This is a landing site for a phone app. The site has an attractive, smooth-running interface. Haven't tried all the site or app features and/or options yet, but so far, it looks and feels good.

  • Reverso

I don't know much about the French I took, but this site can get you on the right path to any language. It's pretty simple to use, and has an audio as well as a text translation engine.

  • Dvdnowkiosks

6/4/18

Chances are, anyone who navigates to this site is looking into a franchise opportunity in the automated DVD business. The old domain redirects to a new domain name. As a previous owner of these kiosks, I would definitely NOT advise anyone to think about investing in this business. It financially ruined me to the tune of over $75,000, with very little support from this company after they sell you a machine. Did my "due diligence" but back then, in 2009, there was not much info on the business. Now, only registered clients can access the info, but many other reviews are available on this company. Beware!

  • LifePoints

I joined this site in 2003, and would not recommend it as a survey site. They have revamped the site since then, making it run smoothly. You're not bombarded with any ads, but depending on your time and preferences, you may be bombarded with more surveys than you can handle. Over the years I've only had time to accumulate enough points for about $200, cashed in $100 through PayPal, and was satisfied with the redemption turnaround time.

I just downgraded my rating & rescinded a recommendation. After being a long-time member, I would take occasional surveys, but even though I logged in occasionally, by not doing any surveys and with almost another $100 on the line, they cancelled my membership. No warning, no reply to emails sent, and the reason was because I had not been active. To me, this is BS.

Other sites did not cancel if I had not logged in for years. To me, this seems to be a tactic to elude paying out after an extended period of inactivity, which appears to not only diminish their website value but an ineptitude in returning loyalty to long-time customers.

  • Wisegeek

This site is a collective of tens of thousands of clear, concise answers given by researchers, writers and editors to common questions in a few dozen categories (from what I can tell primarily to 'what is' questions). It allows users to register and post comments or dispute an answer, and appears to be one of the top "answer" sites online.

  • YTD Downloader & Converter

8/21/12

Ever see one of those youtube videos that you've just got to save on your pc? This download gives you ad-free software that even includes a converter to change your download to the most common video formats. It's fast and seamless. The best part is that the basic version (which I use) is free, and it's available in a paid pro version with even more features. I've used it for over a year with no problems.

  • Wall Street Survivor

8/13/12

Good training, educational, and real-time practice site for anyone interested in trying their hand at the stock market. They just re-launched it with a new version. This site could use some optimizing, is slow and confusing at times, and eliminated a user loyalty points program for Amazon cards that attracted me.

  • Free Legal Forms, Documents, Papers At Legalforms.name

6/26/18

This site has been useful to me several times. There are other sites that offer you a paid service to download & print legal forms, but this site is totally free. There are hundreds of legal documents in dozens of categories to choose from, available to download & print as. Pdf documents.

  • Brightstar Device Protect

6/26/18

It's about time I gave Brightstarprotect some props. They offer protection plans & process claims with several phone carriers.

I received a refurbished iPhone with a hardware problem (bad wi-fi chip). Contacted this company, described the issue, & they provided me a case number, had me ship in the defective device, and I received a replacement - all within a week, with no problems. Great, courteous, fast service. I'm only surprised not to see any other reviews on Sitejabber.

  • Owler

6/23/18

This business information site gives snapshots of history, revenue, number of employees, competitors, news & other tidbits of info on millions of businesses, large and small. It offers a daily opinion poll in different business sectors, and free user-customized emails like a "daily snapshot" of selected companies, which I actually look forward to in my inbox.

Owler is a useful site for anyone in business leadership positions and anyone who wants to stay abreast of the latest happenings in any industry. I personally like the snapshot of technology companies, which lists every single piece of info on new technology from all the tech companies.

  • Lyrics

We've all been there, just like Donald Trump forgetting the words to "God Bless America" we struggle to remember the lyrics to that favorite oldie but goodie. I use lyrics.com, which claims to be the 'web's largest resource for music, songs, & lyrics' and is a repository for thousands of songs, searchable by artist or song title. Very cool.

  • Oldversion.com

6/23/18

Have you ever wanted to get a previous version of a web application or software but didn't know where to look? Well, oldversion.com carries archives of download links for thousands of programs, from Adobe to Zbar. I didn't find any previous Apple OS versions, but for Windows aficionados there are tons of downloads available.

This site is ideal for anyone with older computers that can't accept newer versions of software.

  • List Challenges

6/23/18

This is an interesting site that has various categories like travel, food, movies & books in thousands of user-curated lists. Many lists are rankings for the top 10,50, or 100 in these categories. You can even create a to-do list. A scoring system allows users to earn points for creating lists. Since most of the lists are not certifiable no claims to authenticity can be made, but some lists do come from reputable sources.

  • The Best Schools

6/20/18

This sponsor-driven site is a pretty decent, but an overly comprehensive source of basic info on educational institutions. It offers lists of what it deems the "best" online as well as brick & mortar colleges & universities. This site is so jam-packed with page after page of rankings, links, and features that it seems like overkill and you can spend hours here doing dizzying research on schools, sometimes going in circles.

Bestschools has expanded over the years to include a breakdown of career descriptions & degree programs. Many of the schools appear to have paid for advertising on the site. Overall, it's still a fairly good place to start for information.

  • Green Dot

6/15/18

I would have to agree with most other reviews here. While Green Dot is decidedly one of the worst in the financial sector, It's hard not to interact with this company at some point in life. According to Wikipedia, it's considered the "world's largest prepaid debit card company and operates the platforms for Apple Pay, Uber, & Intuit", and is in partnership with businesses like TurboTax & WalMart's GoBank. Green Dot also owns the RushCard.

Green Dot also operates under the name Bonneville Bank, but accounts or transactions cannot be transferred between the two. That's where I had the biggest issue.

Green Dot's customer service is very UNhelpful, and is very limited. If you have a problem you're practically on your own. Their reputation is bad across the web, on Yelp, Amazon, & CreditKarma. It's definitely about the worst you can do business with. Avoid the prepaid card if at all possible, it's loaded with extra fees, and you may even be stuck paying the monthly fee if you don't setup direct deposits of at least $1000 per month.
