Advertised $1.00 search turned into multiple unauthorized charges for $18.95. I was told I must have "accidentally" clicked the subscription button when signing up. Assuredly I did not. Once the bogus charges were discovered, I called the support number and magically my account was closed moments after I made my inquiry without my knowledge. I then used the live chat feature to get more information, and was told my account was closed, no more charges would be made, and was quickly promised a full refund of the $18.95 charges as well as the $1 charge to which I had originally consented. 3-5 business days later, no refund. Support then wanted my address to send a physical check bc apparently there was a "technical error" when making the electronic transfer. I requested they try again, or 3 times, but were insistent they needed my address to help me further. No way I was going to give them more personal information! Inconvenienced and annoyed, looks like I'll need to be issued a new credit card number as this one has been compromised. Shame on house lookups.com. STAY AWAY!
