Ordered health care products and alike for a good number of years from this site. Small company very responsive to questions. They're down over weekends, thus no direct customer service. However, they have regular sales of products unannounced. Prices are very competitive to very good for this industry. If needed one can order products with expedited service.

Great site and responsive company. I've ordered items from this business oft and on for several years. I've never had a problem. They'll quickly inform you if there's a problem or delay in a purchase. Very quick in sending products along to customers, my experience. Oh, they have end-of-season sales items, that can be a real bargain. Also, closeout products can be a very good sale. Company sells adults and childrens' accessories, travel items, seasonal items.

  • Dr. Leonard's

I've been ordering from this company for years, long before they were on the web. They are a long-standing direct mail ordering house. They feature personal care products and health supplies. They're prices are very reasonable. But, be wary, some of the items are downright cheap! Yet, they can be selling some real gems on occasion. If your ordering an item and it goes onto backorder, be prepared to wait. They'll get the item to you, eventually, from my experience or send a coupon or voucher. They are a bit slow on sending items out, but, one can request expedited service(by telephone).

  • eBay

I have thought long and hard on a review for ebay. I don't use them very often, neither ever did. Infrequently, I will purchase an unusual tchotchke; book or excuse me, fetish-sorta implement. I had one odd experience with them, several years back. The seller and then ebay became demanding on my slow response to rating the sale. I had not used the item - so I was rushed into a review. I refused to order through them for over 2 years, till I saw a book, that I could not easily acquire anywhere else. This sale was fine. Still, I don't use this site often.

This site is a gem. This very able company is employee owned and extremely responsive to customer concerns. They occasionally feature a surprise bargain. The web site is well managed and has a blog. They've been involved in community education and surprisingly national education on community-based gardening issues(NYC's rooftop gardening, particularly). I've ordered items from this site and always quickly received their products.

  • Infoplease

4/22/12

This site has been on the web over 10 years. They're generally easy to use and have evolved by featuring more almanac information that's gained through their business group. The company, infoplease, evolved from a radio show many years back. This site is a subdivision of the large media and education company, Pearson, from the UK. Though they're not featured and linked as frequently like the big 800lb gorillas in this field, they're timely and useful as a entryway for further research. I still use the site.

  • Shop.com

4/21/12

This site was one of the early forerunners of shopping comparison sites. Is it unique? No, but it is valuable. Frankly, I usually research through this site for consumer items that I don't want to spend an inordinate amount of time in brick and mortar stores. As with many portals it generally will lead with the pricey items, initially. It's strength is that it's linked and partnered with a huge number of retailers -- more than many other shopping online comparison sites. I have purchased items through the site, no problem. However, keep in mind that one is generally ordering through one of their partners; their shipping can be pricey, though I've heard they are reviewing this and developing new policy. Also, it was the innovator of one-shop carts, I believe. One can find bargains, though it may take some time and research.

Unfortunately, Ancestry's SSDI has undergone a major overhaul since last fall. It was dictated by fear and fanaticism of 'some politicians.' It is still a very good tool. I only use it through my brother's laptop. My brother and I are involved in family history research. Ancestry's overall site, is tops and pricey in my opinion. "Just my opinion." Sadly, they've placed their SSDI behind a larger firewall and with more restrictions. Yet, for someone who needs some information regarding any deaths since 1962, it's worth a try. Also, all modern deaths are not in the SSDI, despite what many many people believe. Surprisingly, some historical researchers, investigators, and lawyers, sad to say, believe all recent deaths in the US end up in the SSDI. They don't; most do, though.

Frankly, I don't know too much about this firm. Yet, ----- I was attempting to order a custom t-shirt, difficulty with the designing on their site. Well, it might have been me, since art design is not my strength. So, I stopped and took a break for a day or two. Well, I have been inundated with e-mails, that in and of itself tells me something ---- Sorry, good-bye

  • AnnualCreditReport

4/19/12

This is the main site if you want a free credit report from one of the major consumer credit reporting agencies. If one does not have the time or interest, due all three during a one site view. However, you can spread it out over a year, if you have the patience and forethought. Also, you can request it in print. Yes, they will attempt to upsell to other service. NOTE: there are other credit reporting agencies or various ilks. Wikipedia has an overview article on this matter. The site came as a result through a change in a federal law near ten years ago, with much consumer insistence

  • Bmezine

4/18/12

BME.com or commonly referred as bmezine is a very knowledgeable adult web site. Though, the site does not focus on pornography. Yet, it has occasionally been banned by various countries and ISPs over the years, which says something for the Internet. It's focus is body modification; manifestations of myriad flavors and idiosyncrasies are featured. There are thousands of stories and pictures for one's perusal. Be forewarned: This site is strictly for adults. Much of the sites material is not for the people of delicate or waning temperament. Also, much of the very adult material is firewalled, i. E., one must sign-on. If your kids are into the latest piercing fad, check it out -- an education is guaranteed.

  • GoDaddy

4/5/12

Well, well, what can one say about godaddy.com. A lot -- most of the reviewers have been right on the money. Stay away. Yes, the site is cheap for domain registration, yet, there are tons of domain registrars out there, today. Do your shopping. Bob Parsons is frankly a weirdo! I would not give this troglodyte one penny. He's a gizzillionaire and supports -- Well, let's leave that one aside. Regarding the hosting services, stay away. I have spoken with too many friends and associates whom have had difficulty with this company's hosting.

  • Cyndi's List

4/3/12

Anyone, virtually anyone interested in searching their families' roots, or their partner's -- has to appreciate the depth and scope of Cyndislist. A number of years back, this portal was considered the most hot-linked single web site, outside of academic sites, bar none. It has an immense amount of material, web links, assists, on and on for: historians, genealogists, family history buffs, professionals of all types and persuasions. And to her credit, I believe, she still has a very limited staff and does much of the sites' work and reviews. Enjoy.

  • Craigslist

4/3/12

Craigslist.com is simply not a reliable site, any longer. Especially, if one is looking to purchase products. Services can be another matter. The sellers are generally: fraudsters; whiners; low-ballers; cheats; scammers; and other disreputable characters. I have had no luck in the past 24 months with any sales items, and given up. Regarding services, trust me, Be wary and careful. First, try to screen through a mediated web mail address. Never, give a personal e-mail account, or Trouble! I still occasionally found some reasonable and reputable service, but do one's homework, please. Screen, check, and ask again. If they're not willing to talk or give any time on a phone, I say, Why Bother.
