We have been in our Tinley Park townhome in Brookside Meadows for about 1 year now and we have numerous issues! The builder refuses to fix anything stating that it's not poor workmanship, it's the house settling. However, the basements are not properly sealed so every home on the block gets seepage or worse in heavy rain! The back decks were inspected by the village per homeowners request because the deck was moving in the wind; they found numerous safety concerns including the posts not being bolted down! We have this in writing and was told that the builder needs to address it or he will be fined. He is saying now that the decks are safe and will not be fixed. Our floors creak something fierce- every room, every floor, including the stairs! The builders response: "Hmmm, I usually walk around and screw any loose pieces down". WELL, I guess you missed a few Frank! This may seem hard to believe, but our floors are also uneven. You can roll a pencil from one side of the 2nd floor bathroom wall and it rolls right into the linen closet! Gutters leak and water gets under the driveway and it froze on us and raised the driveway causing flooding in our garage. We had a shower door installed and the tile cracked upon installation. When we had it repaired (builders tile guy refused btw), we found NO mortar behind the tile. Our kitchen floors were warped when we moved in. They fixed it but it took over a month to get them out and the flooring guy told us they were going to screw the flooring down from the basement ceiling (to pull them down flat). We told them no, you need to repair these correctly. They agreed but were not happy. They did a very poor job in repairs, still left two boards warped in place and over sanded the "good" planks so now our floors need to be completely refinished. They don't care at all. He's in a hurry to walk away from this subdivision and can't get out soon enough. If you're thinking of buying from Crana Homes or Dunree Homes, think twice!
