Do NOT buy from SHOPEE. If you do so, be aware of a seller named IWEN2020 (iwen2020) who has set up shop THIS YEAR and NOW offers over 900 products on the platform. The seller offers brand named product, ACCEPTS THE ORDER, then replaces it with a knock off brand. I ordered a KRUPS 5-cup Coffee Maker then was told they would send the knockoff in pic below. When I tried to cancel the order, they did not accept the cancellation request. Instead they send an incomprehensible canned response. I am working with Shopee to ensure the seller cannot do this to anyone else.
As a first time customer, I learned that Shopee cobbles a seller network together but operates with only nominal oversight going as far as allowing their (helpful) customer agents to infer they cannot control situations like mine. Taking no responsibility or accountability for seller behavior is not good business.
My 1st order placed and paid for via mobile banking, I contacted customer service and spoke to a helpful rep who said she'd send me directions for my refund and stating it would be 2-5 business days to transact. The email specifically requested me to provide my bank account name and account number in HANDWRITTEN form then creating an electronic form or taking a photo of the handwritten information.
No bank will say this is acceptable and I will not follow the prescribed guidance.
The website is poorly designed and difficult to navigate. FAQs are horrific. Ordering protocols are unclear and poorly designed. Easily among the worst eCommerce sites I've ever seen.
I will return to this review with retails of outcome and the refund once complete. I want to be sure my experience is fully documented and am more than willing to take a little more of my valuable time to inform others of a recovery outcome.
