Lets start out by saying that I have had my DNA checked by 3 companies. I have extensively checked my ancestry background by papers files, birth certificates etc.
There were some dead ends (adoptions) so I used this company to help out. They provided a comprehensive and detailed look at my DNA that mirrored in many respects what I already knew. But they showed when and from where my family immigrated which was exactly the information I had but with some surprises too. For example they added other details like that I had some German ancestry that was greater than I thought and were specific about locations. A point that I would like to make is that if you have less than 1% of anything, that is what they call DNA noise, disregard as you can only go back 7 generations. Altogether I highly recommend this site. 5 stars plus!
So just so you understand. I was using this DNA testing to double check another DNA testing company. This is a good idea too. So they send me the results back showing that I am from Western Europe, who would have known that. I mean a white person in America? No specifics like German, French, Italian, etc they did say I was partly from the British isles. Nothing like English, scotch, irish etc. So I questioned them and they made claims that the irish are not distinguishable from English. A total lie, other DNA companies have that ability. So then she said they didn't so there you are, they are selling DNA testing that can't distinguish within a region. So if you are an Asian they can't tell if you are Chinese or Japanese. If you are black, yep you are from Africa (but don't ask which country). Save your money and stay away.
I had My Heritage do a DNA test which came up with results absolutely different than the tem years of research I had on my family. So just to be sure I had 3 other companies test my DNA and guess what all three companies showed almost exactly what the paper trail of ten years work did. So this company obviously has issues in their testing procedures. The sad thing is I paid for tests for my wife and myself, now I have to choose a new company to test her again. Save your money and stay away from My Heritage DNA.

I regret to find your raw DNA results are not comparing with your research or other DNA tests that you have taken with other DNA kit providers.
It is true to consider that bio-geographical estimates are complicated. Different researchers analyzing the same DNA of a person can come up with different estimates based on a number of different factors, including the reference populations used for comparison, the algorithm, the chemical processing and many more factors. Therefore these elements are consistently being improved in the DNA researching community as a whole and it is certainly our highest priority here at MyHeritage.
Moreover, while some companies provide many more regions to compare your DNA with, MyHeritage compares your DNA to a lot more ethnic populations. We find this most important for various reasons such as the fact that populations in countries have moved around while official borders and communities were at times occupied throughout history. It is also certainly found that DNA tends to be very similar between people in neighboring countries, such as North Western Europe and England, where there isn't sufficient statistical difference, our ethnicity estimate is retained on a higher regional level.
MyHeritage has proudly referenced 42 ethnic populations to compare your DNA with and this number will be growing even larger in the future as we are constantly working on adding to our reference populations. (ongoing "MyHeritage Founder Population Project")
All in all, what is most important to us is your overall satisfaction because we use all feedback to better the genealogy experience for the millions of our members. We want all of our members to have the most solid results.
