We made the proof of concept regarding Restaurants in our Home City of Antwerp.;-) Its ok, but shows, that the recommondations are made by tourists and mostly not by locals... we have other choices. But it still helps, we found some good davice on various trips.

A new social network. I am new to it but I like the concept of peer 2 peer communication. No Personal data, no Photo collections. It operates just by matching individual interests of the users. A lot of topic-streams, such as literature, art, lifestyle, relation. It could be used as a dating-Platform, but its good for to find mates with the same Hobby or just somenone to share ideas and experience. Simple to use, free of charge.

We used this site to find accomodation on our tour in May 2013. The choice of B&B is really good with a lot of listings. It helped us to find about 20 accomodations in BC and Alberta. Its just enough information to get in touch or make reservation. The basic information is just good for a quick check before going to the websites of the hosts. Result; less is (sometimes) more.
