If this had not happened to me I WOULDN'T HAVE BELIEVED IT! DO NOT ASK FOR CLEAN SHEETS OR YOU MAY BE OUT A ROOM ENTIRELY! Check in was normal went up to the room and my husband noticed that the sheets had black spots all over and what appeared to be make up? Blood? Speckles all over it so he called the front desk and asked that they be changed. Eager to see the town we headed to the car. The maid was headed to the room on our way out and yelled to us from the top floor "I don't know what you're talking about they are changed after every guest!." Thought this was rude, but let it roll off my back as I'm on vacation and want to enjoy myself. Didn't give it another thought. Now here is where my experience becomes VERY INTERESTING. At about 10:30pm we arrived back at the hotel and an odd thing happened, my key wouldn't work. My son and I waited by the door of the room with our bags thinking it was just a demagnetized key while my husband went to get a new one. A few minuets later my husband returned and stated "We have to find another room somewhere we have been kicked out!" Yes, i'm serious. I asked him several times if he was joking. No phone call to us stating that they had an issue with us asking for the sheets to be changed (which in my opinion is asinine to begin with). We literally were sitting by the room in the middle of the night with a child and they basically said we don't care where you stay but it's not going to be here and wouldn't give us a reason other then the sheets were clean (which they weren't) when you asked for them to be changed! Sound crazy, it is! Obviously I went to the lobby myself and the young lady and gentleman there (I use those term loosely as they were neither helpful, respectful, or kind in any WAY) literally just stood there and repeated (There is no number you can call, no one can help you, you will have to come back in the morning...)We left thinking there is no way they charged us for this. WRONG there was $135.50 charge on my account. I called the bank and explained my situation. They asked for a final receipt of $0.00 so that they may release my funds. Do you think the staff back at the resort was helpful? They literally asked us to leave said there was no charge and when I got my computer out to show them they called the POLICE! YES FOLKS IT GOT WORSE. Needless to say when the officers did arrive they basically made them print a receipt for us so that we could send it off to my bank (which my bank was helpful and apologized for my night and lovely as were the officers). I woke up this morning and still am in shock. They literally put my whole family out on the street in the middle of the night for no reason with my funds being held after lying to us and saying that they did not charge us at all (being a banker for 1o years I also asked about the hold). Never in my life have I met such cold and uncaring people who wouldn't even give me a phone number to try to figure out what was going on. If you do decide to stay here and I obviously would suggest that you DON'T. DO NOT ASK FOR CLEAN SHEETS! Apparently it's offensive enough for them to lock you out of your room in the middle of the night with zero warning which they charged you for and when you ask for a final receipt they call the police (hopefully they are as helpful as ours were in getting it for you!)
