I used to shop on Amazon a lot. The products I received were hit or miss and so were their prices. Often times when I compared pricing - eBay, Etsy, Wal-Mart, Target, and Kohls would have the same or very similar items at lower prices, even if you're paying for a Prime account w/"free" (paid for) shipping.
But why did I really stop shopping at Amazon? Because Amazon is the reason why over a million workers (between their business and USPS who delivers for them) do not get to enjoy major holidays like Easter, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas with their families - because now they're forced to have to be out delivering for Amazon, which could and should allow ALL deliveries to stop for all major holidays. People survived for hundreds of years not getting mail on major holidays or Sundays. Now USPS workers do not get that one (saving grace) day a week to rest their bodies (Sundays), especially between November and February when they need it the most. Amazon is DIRECTLY responsible for lowering the quality of life and family time and rest time for over a million American workers. And because odd that, I had to quit the USPS and have been unemployed and struggling to find work ever since. I could not physically work 7-day work weeks and miss holidays with my family - and Amazon caused that. I will never shop from them again and I tell all my fault and friends to do likewise. A few have stopped shopping from them for the same reasons.
