This company offered me a free trial of a pain relief product. I only had to pay the postage, so I decided to try it. I never did because I gave it to a friend with much worse pain. Later I received another bottle of the pills which I assumed was a mistake, since I hadn't ordered it and my credit card company sent a bill. Now they've apparently sent more pills and when I told them to stop, they said I had automatically agreed to recurring orders. This is nonsense. I never agreed to any such thing. The Healthy Back Institute is nothing but a rip-off artist and should have their business license revoked. Beware of this company!
Yes, we offer free trials on most of our supplements. This way you can “test” the effectiveness before you buy.
And because lots of customers used to call in to order more supplements shortly after their trial bottles ran out, we now automatically ship them out after a certain time period (and charge the credit card a discounted rate).
This is called “autoship”. And those terms are clearly spelled out on the order page, and include details on:
Shipping fee for free trial
The fee for autoship
How long you have to cancel autoship so you are not charged
That you are under NO obligation to continue beyond your free trial bottle
The phone number to contact us to cancel
As an added level of safety to our customers - to make sure no one can “accidentally” order without 100% agreeing to these terms and conditions - the order button is disabled by default.
The ONLY way you can activate the button - and therefore order a free trial and enroll in autoship - is to physically click on a checkbox indicating you understand and agree to the terms and conditions.
I apologize if this is not 100% clear on the order form.
