Facebook's been down in my area (and many others for more than 20 minutes now). I went to Downrightnow and the status for Facebook is not reset for over 45 minutes? Downrightnow would actually be helpful if it had a CURRENT status report on websites, instead of making you wait a long time. Websites like these are designed to help the user determine if the connection problem they are having is their computer or is a server issue. If it takes an hour for an update, it is pointless. Down right now? Slowest system online? Come back in an hour and we will let you know what happened...
In the attached photo is while Facebook was down and had been for 25 minutes, as you can see, it indicates that it is UP (falsely)

Tip for consumers: Should be called "Was it down earlier today?"

A few years ago, I was raving on Pinterest, being the owner of a small retail website selling art and jewelry. It represents a good platform to display my wares in an appealing and fun way. I will give them that!
Then, verifying my website address.
Followed the steps; wasn't getting verified. Talked to them and they finally fixed the issue, and I felt like I helped change their company for the better, because now the small business can sit there next to the big guys and be just as viable and official! I had my little yellow checkmark and was good to go.
A few weeks ago, the check-mark disappears! So, I ask them what's up with that and they said the checkmarks are confusing people and double-talked through emails for the next couple weeks. Turns out, I have to be a BIG business, now, in order to have the "official" checkmark on my company's official profile page! My pinterest follower growth slowed down a lot since. This is how I got to 4 stars.
On to 3 stars: So, my marketing team is going about the daily pins, and when we go to pin off the site, it crashes the tabs on my computer now. Pinterest is sending huge amounts of cookies that can slow down or crash elements on your computer (this is not permanent damage, to those not too computer savvy). So, pinterest has to have all other tabs closed and flushing cookies before and after. They are lucky they are getting a 3! (It's still a pretty cool website!)
UPDATE: The cookie issue crashing my computer seems to have been resolved! Thank you, Pinterest! Back to a "4" star rating!

Tip for consumers: It helps to be Amazon.com for these guys to help you market your website. But, for a free service, a great website, especially for potential customers of fashion, jewelry and art!

I was "inactive" for a couple months. There is no warning of de-activation, even though my REAL e-mail address (gmail) was my profile name? So, I go to sign up AGAIN, and my phone number is REQUIRED for membership? Not to mention the joy of navigating through their website, like visiting New York City on Christmas. So many bells and whistles you'd think that they think you are mindless cattle looking for shiny things. Yahoo "answers questions" or whatever the hell it's called, is a nice quality to their platform. User-friendliness (this isn't 1996!) sucks (technical term; got more cookies than pinterest.com; my next meal after this one)
UPDATE: Finally gave in and provided my phone number to sign in for ANOTHER account, it only took 20 minutes, after all the back and forth about user names, passwords being green and good enough then instantly not good enough... Instantly had spam in my new email account. I get literal head-aches using this horrible website. Everything about them is terrible. I cannot think of a single nice thing to say about yahoo. I hope they go away and never return. Makes AOL look user-friendly and high tech...
UPDATE: DELETED MY ACCOUNT AGAIN! It takes about 2 weeks, if you don't log in, they DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT! Good news, I discovered that you can run Bing ads without using yahoo. This company used to be important now it's just terrible and will make you sad. Horrible model for a company. Looks and acts like a toddler.

Tip for consumers: Complain to them if you are unlucky enough to be trying to market a website about their horrible monopoly service. Maybe they'll grow a heart someday? Maybe boycott these vipers?

The owner of this website offers "handmade" jewelry. I purchased 2 rings months ago. I have written numerous emails asking for and estimate time of arrival OR a refund and still have received neither. She just takes my money and vanishes. I recommending NOT buying her jewelry, since there is a distinct possibility that there isn't any. In one email response, over 30 days after I payed, I was told that the "supplies" weren't ordered yet! Nothing for the last week as I hound her just to respond. More like Brilliant Dullness. These people are a joke.

The rings arrived today, June 8th, 2015, 6 weeks late. I am shocked, I was sure they were not a legit business! Well, don't be 6 weeks late delivering jewelry to a retailer! Too bad she can't deliver on time (in any definition of the phrase), because the rings look great (if they are real! Jk) Gonna give the world's slowest and most painful purchase 2 stars, revised from having only one! Good job brilliantsnails! (By the way, she did not give a refund nor any compensation for being 6 weeks late, even though I hounded her with dozens of emails demanding a refund for the last 3 weeks.) I would of never received the rings had I not begged her for a refund endlessly and threaten to contact her local Attorney General. That's when she got them done all of a sudden! Brilliantlazydays

I have been BEGGING for a refund for 2 weeks now... (unless you are willing to wait a VERY LONG TIME!)

Just the tip of the iceberg > Built-in issues; like, lots of 1X1 gifs with no alt text nor access to the needed files to repair it. I spent a couple years trying to get the site to work properly and learned a lot about html, css, api, javascript and more, instead of making sales. Website loaded slow and had a terrible mobile interface. The bounce rate was through the roof. I switched to a better host (which would probably be any). If you aren't a huge company ready to fork out $1000s of dollars for issues that shouldn't be there in the first place, this is NOT for you! Their "customer service" is a joke, the only answer to most questions? "Here's our SEO department" (with $5000 "solutions"). New at ecommerce? Steer away.

Tip for consumers: Try BigCommerce.

Selling on Ebay is pretty easy to do. Buying is somewhat risky. I own a webstore, and ebay can be helpful to promote your website by leaving a link to your 'Terms' page on your website on a listing. I recommend if you can't find a specialist for what you seek, use Ebay.
You are here! Seeing how there are complete scams, like Mywot, out there, this site is a refreshing alternative to destroying your website's reputation. The reviews here are great as each one carries the same weight no matter what reviewer 'level' you are.
One of the only legit ecommerce sites available. Re-active templates make the user experience great. My drop rate decreased dramatically since I switched from Volusion. It's nice to be making sales now! I recommend BigCommerce for anyone looking to sale retail independently online.
Great Home Decoration and Accent website. Has the typical climbing shipping rate as your purchase price increases. Otherwise, great merchandise, classy, savvy. Pretty big inventory it seems. Lots of seasonal categories.
Great website. Free Shipping (they say limited time). Affordable window curtains and accessories. Recommend if shopping curtains!
This website seems safe and provides different home decor and nick-knacks. Shipping seemed a bit much, going up as you spend more, not based on weight. Otherwise, seems square and good site to visit and pick up some trendy pillows or lamps.
Great alternative to the scam site mywot
UPDATE: Webutation relies on mywot, so 4 stars instead of 5
I created, own and operate the site. We promote handmade, fair trade products to the USA.

Tip for consumers: any evaluations or advice for my site is appreciated!

MyWOT is abusive and criminal. They allow multiple accounts so their rating system is unfair and harmful to your site. Here is a screenshot of a message on "request a site evaluation" PUBLIC FORUM. They claim to evaluated the 'trustworthiness' and 'child safty" of a site. Yet they are biased and judge unfairly. Pictured is the response from one of their demeaning and sarcastic power players..

Tip for consumers: don't even think about it
