I am an interior designer so I have trade accounts with multiple vendors and shop often. Pottery Barn and specifically Pottery Barn Kids has some of the worst quality products, which they will not stand by whatsoever, which shows me they know that is the case. For the price point, they should be a company with a customer satisfaction guarantee. I have also found many of their same products on sites such as Wayfair and Amazon; they just rebrand them and charge a whole lot more. In this instance, we re-covered some kids chairs, and the fabric is worthless. It's a fake sherpa and everything sticks to it like velcro after a little bit of use (and when I say use, I mean kids sitting in it - it is a chair after all). My client washed it, thinking maybe that would help it look better (they're removable and washable for a reason), but it just made matters worse and is all pilled now. I contacted customer service and there was zero empathy or problem solving. Both responses simply stated, you're beyond the return window so there's nothing we can do. It's shame that they are connected with other stores that I like the design, like West Elm, or I would boycott them completely. Beware when buying from there!

We own a design build business and have ordered appliance packages twice from appliance connection because their prices and shipping times tend to be better; however, I would not do so again. Their return policy is terrible, and they offer little support. We waited months for a repair on a brand new range for a flip that they should have covered, as it was defective within days of receiving it, yet they left us with the bill. Obviously we would not have waited for their repair service if we were going to foot the bill anyway. Then, they refused to be flexible on a rigid return policy (probably have that policy in place because people have issues often) for a fridge that was completely misrepresented by description and photos on their site. They were unapologetic and were fine with losing our business, which would be tens of thousands of dollars per year. We have several friends in the biz and have warned them appropriately. Stick to Lowes or Home Depot or specialty stores!

When I heard about Thred Up, I thought, "Finally! Somewhere to sell clothing that takes a multitude of brands." They are NOT what they claim just like many of the other reviews here. They charge $10 to ship your items to them, which you are inclined to pay because you think you will be making money on your items, especially the new ones... not so. Thred Up donated hundreds of dollars worth of new items of mine claiming things that were impossible, like they were faded. What it comes down to is their inventory and preference, but you would have to pay another $10 for the to send them back and must indicate that you want that before sending your items in... so let me get this straight, Thred Up wants me to PAY them to donate my clothes, what an awesome scam for them! The items they do pay you on are mere pennies, I would love to see them shut down and would never buy from them or send the clothes again. I can certainly donate my clothes myself for free.
