We are pensioners living on a fixed income and have been loyal customers of OPTIMUM CABLEVISION for over ten years. In the past years their rates have catapulted to ridiculous heights.
5 Months ago we contacted the company and told them that the rates we were paying were way too high for us and was their anything they could do for us to lower these rates before we considered looking for some alternative provider. At the time we were getting the basic package and were paying for 2 dvr receivers (also included was phone and internet).
I spoke to some woman supervisor who told us that being loyal customers and not wanting to lose us, they would offer us a better package and 2 free dvr receivers. This upped the original price by $7 but we were getting more channels, plus the movie channels. This agreement would be binding for 2 YEARS.
So this agreement, although verbal and over the phone was to come into effect on January 1st, 2018. All was well UNTIL yesterday, May 27th (5 months since the start of this agreement), as I was about to pay my bill, I realized that it was now $10 more than we had agreed upon and what I had been paying previously.
We immediately contacted Optimum to see what was going on, and the first person basically told us that if we don't like it we can leave...
Shocked, we called again and asked to speak to a supervisor, someone with authority, and spoke to some guy called DAVE. I told him that we had a two year agreement and after 5 months it had been jacked up by $10. He told me that that was the price for a DVR which we were only getting for 5 months WHICH WAS NOT THE AGREEMENT.
Why would I agree to have the original amount I was disputing jacked up in 5 months by $16 which is now above what I originally contested.
In short, this SUPERVISOR DAVE, told us that he was sorry, but there was nothing they could do about this, and we are free to leave Optimum which obviously we will be doing.
It is amazing to me that apart from not adhering to their contract, they would lose loyal customers (paying $150/month) over a dispute of $10 when they are begging people to join for $69.99/month. We had a binding agreement, albeit a verbal one, which they refuse to uphold. What kind of company does that?
In my book, it is a disgrace, and no way will we deal with them anymore. There are enough companies out there who will be only too have to have us as customers and I am sure will adhere to their contracts.
In short, this is a warning to people considering using this service - their contracts ARE NOT BINDING. You will be scammed like us.

So, as expected, I was refunded the credits for the $5 gift card I won. Never got it so now I am stuck with the credits that I cannot use. Everything I bought on this site has now been refunded. At first I did get the $5 gift cards I won, but it took weeks for them to send it and now two have been refunded. This is from the holding company not sellers on the site. Their rewards... such a scam I hope they are closed down so more people won't be duped by this site.

Well, I have 'purchased' at least 5 items on this site, and never got one. You wait weeks to find out you will not get it.
The main problem is that the SWAPCAPS items they sell are also a scam. I won a few $5 gift cards. The ones I got I waited weeks to receive, some more than 5 weeks, but eventually got them. Now I won two, one they refunded and never sent, the other is still waiting 4 weeks for a reply which will probably also be a refund. If the actual company does not comply with the rules, which are, SEND THE ITEM THE WINNER WON, then what can you expect from the other sellers. If they can't fulfill a transaction and cannot afford to send $5, what can you expect from this site.
DO NOT JOIN, DO NOT BID, AND DO NOT SELL. You will end up with caps (which are credits) and will not be able to use them. UNRELIABLE, DISHONEST and SCAM SITE, they should be taken off the internet an save people time and money.

BIG JOKE! TODAY ON THE NEWS IT WAS STATED THAT EBAY IS ACCUSING AMAZON OF 'POACHING' THEIR CUSTOMERS... WHAT A JOKE. PEOPLE PREFER AMAZON FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THAT EBAY SUCKS! PEOPLE SWITCH TO A PLACE WHERE THEY ARE RESPECTED AND APPRECIATED AND THAT FOR SURE IS NOT THE CASE WITH EBAY.
I SOLD ON EBAY SINCE 2001. IN THOSE DAYS THEY SENT CERTIFICATES OF APPRECIATION FOR MY OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS A POWER SELLER. THINGS WERE SO DIFFERENT IN THOSE DAYS. I WAS KICKED OFF EBAY A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO AND WAS NEVER GIVEN A REASON FOR THAT. DID NOTHING DIFFERENT, STILL GAVE OUTSTANDING SERVICE AND WAS A TOP RATED POWERSELLER WITH OVER 11,500 POSITIVE FEEDBACKS. STILL TO THIS DAY WAS NEVER GIVEN AN EXPLANATION WHY THEY JUST DELETED OVER 1000 LISTINGS AND PREVENTED ME FROM EVER SELLING ON THE SITE AGAIN. AT THE TIME WHEN WE ASKED THEM WHAT THE REASON WAS, THEY SAID SOMEONE HAD A CHARGE BACK. REALLY? CHARGE BACK? THEY GOT THEIR ITEM AND WE WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THEM BUYING FROM US - EBAY ACCEPTED THE SALE AND WE DID OUR BIT...
SO WHY AMAZON IS MORE POPULAR AND PEOPLE PREFER TO SHOP THERE IS THAT CUSTOMERS ARE RESPECTED. I SOLD ON AMAZON YEARS AGO AND THEY WERE A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH. NOW EBAY DISRESPECTS SELLERS AND TREATS THEM LIKE DIRT.
GLAD TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE LOSING CUSTOMERS - WAY TO GO! EBAY IS RUN BY INCOMPETENT IDIOTS - GONE ARE THE DAYS WHEN SELLERS WERE APPRECIATED - THEY FORGET THAT SELLERS ARE ALSO BUYERS!

I have been on eBay since 2001, in the beginning it was not too bad and eBay took care of the sellers. Now it seems like they don't care about small sellers, only the big corporations.
Their detailed seller ratings are atrocious. People do not leave correct ratings, if they leave ratings at all. Not very many leave feedbacks anymore.
Now they have automatic returns. The buyer can return the goods and they get automatically refunded for the item plus the shipping cost both ways. Even though they lied about the reason for returning the item (most of the time because they do not bother to read the description) the seller always seems to pay the shipping cost and is out of money.
Now you have the liars and cheats. I had one a couple of weeks back who got a new item and lied that it was not new and wanted to send it back. She was told to send it back within 7 days. She did not send it back and about 2 weeks later I get a claim filed against me. I called eBay to find out what was going on, she never returned the item and should not be refunded. They told me she had called them after about 3 weeks and said she was hospitalized (Sound familiar? We are sick of those excuses already or someone died in the family, yeh yeh, they think we are imbeciles). But, ebay did not say sorry you were supposed to send it back 3 weeks ago, they opened a case against me, saying if I did not refund her within the next couple of days (now remember she did not send my new expensive item back), they will hold this claim against me... What the hell?
Why are they letting her keep the item, refunding her and punishing me?
I cannot tell you how mad I am. I am so ready to leave this damn site already as I am losing more money now than making, and the sellers are being ripped off left right and center and no one is protecting them. I have never been helped by them whenever I had a problem, I was always punished for things I have never done. 100% feedback means nothing now... they do not care about the seller, only the buyers - lousy money grabbers!
I really HATE this site now, I am going to move to another site, fortunately now they do not have the monopoly anymore.
If anyone is interested in selling on eBay, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO SELL ON ANOTHER SITE AND NOT THIS STINKING LOUSY SITE RUN BY INCOMPETENTS.

I have had a ton of stuff shipped to me. The items are always well priced and shipping is always fast and if not free, then really cheap. Always fast shipping and just what I wanted. It is so convenient, could not ask for more! 5 Stars from me!

I have been on Listia for a few years now, it was good before, but now every time I turn around, the credits have devalued and are out of control. If I list something for 21 days, by the time I hit the 10th day or so, my credit value has changed so much that I am selling my items at a loss. What with the cost of shipping having gone up and people only buying with free shipping, this site has gotten out of control and unless you are a buyer and not selling, you can get bargains.
Now, as far as feedbacks are concerned, you unfortunately bought an item from a rogue seller who had no intention of sending the item to you, and after waiting and waiting for this liar who promised to send the item and did not, he refunds my credit after two weeks and THEN CAN LEAVE NEUTRAL FEEDBACK AND RELIST THE ITEM. You get a neutral feedback for doing nothing wrong except being scammed and Listia justifies that. Then, to top it all, immediately he relists the item to scam someone else and Listia does nothing about that...
I am really sorry about this because unless you sell your item for next to nothing and take a huge loss when you add the shipping cost, you will sell nothing. I used to sell a ton of items daily and now because I am asking the equivalent of say $14 (200,000) for an item which is worth $50 or more, plus the shipping cost which is about average $5-6 you cannot sell the item. If you want anything that is worth anything now, it costs in the millions of credits, and you are lucky if you get it at all, and have to wait weeks to get a refund when you could have used those credits on something else.
It is so out of control now, I would not recommend this site to anyone at the moment. I will be leaving as I figured out how much money I have lost and nearly fainted. I am in the business of making money and not losing. The amount of work that goes into selling an item for what? Nothing, simply nothing.
Oh, and by the way, on top of not sending me the item I won and leaving a neutral feedback, this...$!$! Is now harrassing me and sending me threatening messages.
Just so you don't land on his site (as I found out after all this that the item he is selling is garbage anyway, so I was lucky not to get it) his moniker is DelRaie. BLOCK HIM! You don't need the aggravation.
So, after having said all this, I am sad to say that I am leaving Listia after all this time as it is not worth the aggravation and loss. Really a pity because it used to be a fabulous site and I won some wonderful items, but now all the GREAT sellers have left or are leaving and only the riff raff (no shortage of them) is left to rip off anyone who they can. Sorry, Listia, you need to change your policies and get rid of the garbage and keep the valuable trustworthy sellers. Also, you need to stop this out of control devaluation of the credits. They have doubled in less than 3 months.
