It all began when I bought a house last February. One of the features of this house was a chimney and fireplace, which, like the rest of the house, needed work. Top Hat cleaned the fireplace and gave me a verbal quote of fifteen hundred dollars for "parts" and labor. They said they would be back in about 2 weeks for the installation. After 6 weeks I began calling to find out first of all, why I had never received a written account of what would be done and why they had not called me about the delay. When I finally reached someone, she told me that the "parts" had been delayed. When I wanted to know why I was not advised of the delay sHe said, "We have other work to do." I told them I no longer needed their service, to please not call again. I subsequently received two calls (the second from a number other than the business number) saying the parts could not be cancelled, to which I replied that it was no longer my problem and that they should take better care of their customers. Upon hiring a new chimney service, they examined the chimney and found that it did not have a complete liner and was also 4 feet too short to draw properly. Top hat was supposedly going to repair a chimney that was not even safe and not fully functional. This company does not know what it is doing. They certainly want your money to become their money AND they want you to wait patiently while they decide to take it. I have since come to understand that somebody retired and somebody else took over and that the service has gone rapidly downhill. Following this incident, I reviewed them on the BBB website. They basically called me a Karen. Since when is expecting courteous customer service and reasonable communication disrespectful or crazy? Photos follow. Had I waited additional weeks for this "repair" I would have been no better off. I still would not have been able to use this fireplace and I'd have been out $1,500.

Tip for consumers:
The company that came out after Top Hat was Chimney Sweep. They were professional and reasonable, unlike Top Hat.

A broker farmed out my move to Gin Lou Moving. I filled out a detailed inventory and received a price. I paid a deposit. When these movers came to pick up my things they refused to produce the inventory list I had spent so much time writing and revising. When I asked where it was they ignored me. The driver took photos and sent them to the dispatcher, Renee. On speaker phone she told me that I would need to pay her driver an ADDITIONAL $1300 beyond my contracted amount to have all my items moved. I refused. They left 28 percent of the cubic feet I had contracted for ON MY LAWN and refused to load it, even after customer service told them to put it on the truck. I have a contract, photos, and videos to prove that they committed fraud. The broker who hired them found them guilty, but they have refused to compensate me. DO NOT HIRE these scammers.

Don't do it!!

In a word: unreliable. Once I found out YouTube TV cost less, I was out. The last straw was being asked for an extra 7.99 per month f or Paramount channel. Wth? I paid extra for a sports package that often did not deliver. I'd be watching a game and the screen would go dark. Not an isolated issue. Service reps would either not answer the phone or hang up right after they answered the phone OR they would be as rude and unhelpful as possible. Thank you Josue! For being the biggest jerk I have ever spoken to on the phone. I will not miss this "service".

When I 1st started doing business with them about 8 years ago I was very impressed but each time I reorder it seems like the customer service gets worse and worse. I reordered I retainers on November 30th and today is December 21st and I have nothing. You would think that reorders would take less time because they already have my impressions But this is not the case. Now they won't even return my emails or phone calls. Not cool.

Tip for consumers:
Don't expect expediency. In fact, expect major delays.

Back in 2015 if anyone had asked me if I would like to spend $40 on a lottery ticket, I would have said "No thank you!" This is essentially what this company is asking consumers to do. Customers who order a kit to grow mushrooms are sent a bag of dirt (that supposedly contains mushroom spores) and a set of instructions. After following the instructions for three years, I still have no mushrooms. The company has accused me of not following directions and not waiting long enough and will not refund my money. They say that the spores were capable of producing mushrooms and that it is my fault if they did not. I say that I did everything they said to do and I cannot do anymore than that. I also pointed out that numerous other types of mushrooms grow naturally in my yard, so why don't these? Especially with all the composting, watering, and tilling I have done? They called me a liar on the BBB website where I filed a complaint. They are horrible people as far as I can see. They have no integrity and have no manners or decency. If you would like to gamble your hard-earned money away, I would suggest at least sending it to nice, kind people-- not these guys.

Was excited to order from Sammy. After I placed order it was "processing" for over 2 weeks. Supposedly it shipped on 8/1-- over 2 weeks ago. Quite the buzz kill. I can't talk about quality because I am STILL waiting on the the 5 of 9 items that haven't been canceled.

Tip for consumers:
I would definitely caution shoppers, especially if ordering special occasion items, order MONTHS in advance.
