I ordered a 15-bottle "Connoiseur Collection" through Groupon. Of the 15 bottles I received, only four were as listed in the ad, the other 11 were substitutes. I contacted Splash Wines customer service and was told that because they buy from small wineries, they are often out of stock and have to substitute. Interestingly, they are still listing the original package on Groupon as of today 9/28/18.

I have had overall good success with Groupons, and believed that they vetted their companies. I recently had a garage door service through Groupon that was little more than a scam. I authorized some additional work, and when completed they wanted me to sign several places on a tablet without reading what I was signing. They had added some additional cost and changed the warranty. When I called Groupon customer service, I had to wait so long for the agent to respond that I gave up. Lesson learned: It's up to the consumer to check out the business.

We bought a ping pong table from $#*!'s and had to sign for delivery. My wife took a half day off work to be home, but no one showed up during the delivery window. We called the freight company and were assured that the table would be delivered that afternoon, but again no one showed up or called. We thought the delivery company would contact us the next week with an apology, but we actually had to chase them down to re-schedule delivery. So our "free delivery" actually cost my wife a day's pay.

I posted a negative review of McCarthy Hyundai in Olathe KS, and a month later I was not able to find it. Whether it was missing or my error, the review is now fully visible.
