The last few summers in Southern California have been exceptionally hot and many of our friends had central air conditioning units installed in their homes. Like them, my wife and I were eager to do the same. However, the windows in our house were 30 years or older, and we knew that the air conditioning would escape through the crooked windows quite easily.
