Last shipment never showed and after a few weeks of it saying it shipped I reached out and was told it had been returned was out of stock., so they would refund my money. I was like I don't want you to refund because it was during the 50% sale and so it wouldn't even be enough to buy a pair of shoes. They promised to honor the promotion the next time I ordered, refunded my money and I will not have a minimum charge for shipping. I am cool with that.

They keep sending me emails with a promo, let me pick my food, add it to my cart, apply the promo, then I pay and it says they cant apply the promo I picked even though it shows as available. Then they almost immediately send me another email saying dont lose your promo, so I do it all again, only to have the same thing happen. I think it's a scam so people will take the time and effort to order the food and anticipate it, then at the last minute, the promo fails, so they'll order it anyway at full price. So disappointing they keep luring me in with the promise of a discount. Which They automatically apply- then say it's no good. I have complained before via chat and they basically were like sorry, not sorry. You'd think I'd learn, but I keep getting sucked in by their emails saying 'hurry- don't lose this deal'.

Initially, I was very satisfied with this service. Easy approval, fast payment and a low cost. I used it 2x, then had some unexpected bills and want able to pay my loan back (my bad, I know). I had only given my acount information- never my debit card. I stopped the payment from my account (planned to pay at a later date when I could). Approx a month after the due date, (1/8) I had a charge using my debit card number for $42.61 (an unusual, out of the blue amount). The contact number showing on my statement was bad. 2 days later, I recieved a text to resolve my debt for a lesser amount, which I did and agreed to make 2 payments of $50, the 1st to be paid on the (1)18th, and the remainder to be paid on the (2) 4th. The $42 payment was not credited to my loan at all. Since the contact number was bad, I kinda forgot about it, planning to look it up a little later. On the 18th, the 1st $50 payment came out. This time, I looked up the company info and reached out via e-mail, letting them know the random payment was not authorized and especially why wasnt it credited to my amount owed. The responded saying I had been sent to collections on the 12th. I said but both payments are to you guys, as is my payment agreement that was made 2 days before it was supposedly sent to collections. Why would they send me to collections if I had a payment arrangement in place and especially if a payment had already been made (unauthorized, but still)? They again responded that they could not help me and to call the collection agency. I replied if my account was sent to collections, why did they take money out of my account? I have not received a reply to the last 4 emails I have sent. So, I called customer service and spoke with Nala- who is probably the rudest customer service two I have ever encountered. She would not let me speak- literally talking over me while I was talking. So I didnt stop talking until she finally did- at least 1-2 minutes of her talking over me. Then we would go silent- not respond at all while I am asking her to please just answer my question as to why they would sell my account when I had a payment plan in place and had already paid towards my balance and that the card payment was not authorized. She tried telling me that I called and made the $42 payment using my debit card, which is completely untrue. I have phone records to prove I had never called before, ever, and never gave them my card number. She told me I was sent to collections, but then they got it back. I have no idea what she is talking about and she refused to explain anything or answer the simplest question. Again we had a talking over eachother war and then again, she went silent for at least 3 minutes while I was asking her to respond. She finally came back on and said they were closed now and she couldn't help me and I would have to call back on Monday. Something just shady is going on. Admittedly, I did not pay back my loan as promised, but that does not exist them randomly talking money out of my account, using a method I did not agree to, that they were not even counting toward s my balance. Then to try to tell me that they sold my account to collections 2 days after a payment agreement was made, but still take the first payment out. And still there is no credit for the $42.61. This company is doing something weird and they have zero respect for their customers whatsoever. I will be disputing the 1st charge- that I did not authorize- with my bank. I will complete the payment plan because I know I owe that. But, they need to return my money that they weren't authorized to just randomly take and test their customers- all of them- with a little common courtesy.

Tip for consumers:
They are lying and saying I called them and gave them my debit card number to make a payment for a really of the wall amount.

My first clean out bag was actually a pretty good payout (even though I only got $4 for a pair of Micheal Kors heels) They took all but 2 items, and the majority were paid out right away (so it added up)- I paid for the return assurance, so my items were returned. One of my items on consignment even sold, and that was great. I had 2 items on consignment that didn't sell. Now keep in mind, these items were consignment die to the high value- and had they sold, I would have gotten a pretty penny. But, they didn't. Oh well, right? I can choose to reclaim them, which of course, I did (it was 2 items worth close to $400, of course I want them back)- then I find out I have to Pay to have my Own items returned to me!?! Wth? This is after I already paid $11.99 for them to send me back a pair of slacks and a cami. If you don't pay the s&h fee, then your clothes become property of ThredUp. Do you really think they're gonna donate those? No. So, I paid. For the return of My own items. I sent in another clean out bag and they accepted All of my items, but still charged me the return assurance fee. And- the upfront payout this time was a whopping $4.30. For a Micheal Kors dress and shirt- both with tags still on and 2 more designer items. $4.30. The rest was put on consignment. I went back and forth with the people from thredup regarding refunding my return assurance fee as I didn't use it. They kept insisting they didn't charge me even after I sent multiple screenshots of my account clearly showing the charge. Then they finally credited my account And Then took the refund Back when my consignment items sold, meaning I actually didn't get paid for those items. That's why I say they are basically thieves. After numerous emails, I finally said, you know what- just refund the $5.99 I would need to get my items back so I can be done with you guys. They had no problem doing that. I reclaimed my items and will never give them a chance to make money at my expense again. I'd also like to point out that although they claim the items they don't accept get donated to charity, that they have what are called Goody bags and also sell different 'grab bags' of those items. So they aren't donating your items that they didn't pay you for. They're still making money just now they got around having to pay you. It's a brilliant scam.

Thanks for your feedback Kristi. We offer a variety of tools and information for our customers to be well informed when participating in our Clean Out program. It’s important to remember that using thredUP means that you may not earn as much as you would if you sold your items peer to peer. But what you may miss in earnings, you earn back in overall convenience. Our Rescue program, serves a couple of purposes we believe strongly in: they give us another way to extend the life of garments--even the imperfect ones--and keeps them out of landfill. I have been sick with Covid. Not like any of us can afford to have it, but this is the worst possible timing- it being Christmas. I was trying apply for an online loan and it made me apply for a trial subscription for this. I paid the $1 and fogot about it as I got sicker. I'm finally feeling a little better- still pretty sick, but able to fuction a little more than I was. I noticed a $39.94 charge on my card, which overdrew my account. Called the customer service number and told them I have never used it, needed it cancelled and my money refunded. In order to get a refund they make you print a form, fill it out, and then email it back to them. That's what I find so shady. I've forgotten to cancel other online subscriptions, and all I had to do was call and tell them I didn't want the service and as long as I had never used it, they refunded my money. Jasper, the 2nd rep I spoke with (after the 1st rep told me she would issue the refund, then the call dropped), was very unforgiving and hesitant to give his supervisors name. If you are looking for a credit service- there's so many of them out there- I don't think this is the one to go with. Will update if they process my refund.

This company is unbelievable.
Who ever heard of having to Keep Paying for something you Never Even Used nor plan on using nor want to use? There is no service- you dont sign a contract- you just sign up for what is basically a subscription you Can Never cancel! I made my first payment- never even weighed in and even emailed 2x to cancel and not to charge my card again in the future and they did. So it looks like I'm just gonna keep paying these people for the next 12 months, whether I do anything or not. The way see I it, it's a killer scam for the most part. These guys must be making money hand over fist. It just amazes me the way some company's take and take and take. Its stupid- my weight is perfectly fine for my height and age- I signed up on a whim on a day i was feeling fat and now I'm not to worried about it. But I guess I better get on the ball and start losing unnecessary weight so I dont feel so stupid they're gonna keep taking my money. Hope I dont get sick or whatever.

We feel bad that you seem stressed out, but we don't understand why you made these unkind remarks. We looked into your account. It looks like we promptly responded to your request for a refund and let you know how to request an exception to our no refunds policy, but you did not make that request. Instead, you wrote the below review, which contains statements that are false and also not very nice.

You used our service by making a weight loss bet, which obligates us to pay you the prize if you achieve your goal. You decided to pay your bet in 18 monthly installments rather than all-at-once. We allow you to pay installments as a convenience to you (we do not charge interest or fees for the installment plan). The installments automatically stop when you've paid what you agreed to pay. They do not just go on and on (there is no "subscription"). And if you achieve your goal, we pay you your prize -- we can’t cancel or get out of it. The service which you paid for and received is our legal obligation to pay you your prize if you achieve your goal. We're on the hook. Likewise, you can't get your bet back or cancel an installment plan. There are exceptions, as we explained by email, and we told you how to request an exception. Your statement that this is a scam is false.

Never been a big Yelp user, but have had enough calls from customers based on them looking us up, so took the time to listen to the pushy Yelp salesperson promising me a huge increase in business if I signed up for their ads. 1 month and $600 and no jobs later, I cancelled the ads - (my opinion of their ads program and it's value is for another day) - Really I just wanted to mention the ads to let other business owners know not to do them- pay the $90 each month for the perks instead to avoid Yelps pushing your potential clients to other businesses. My real issue is their handling of reviews. It's just so... shady. They say it has to do with how active a user is on Yelp whether their review is recommended or not. Out of 51 reviews - all but 2 of them 5 stars and 18 from 2018 alone- each one written by a real customer with no incentive- Yelp chooses to only 'recommend' 15 of those - and only 3 from 2018. 35 are 'not recommended'. I could go on and on about their 'recommendation software' that they supposedly have no control over and how I've did a little research and comparing and found them to be liars. I could go on and on how our recommended reviews dropped from 26 to 15 in the space of a few days after I canceled the ads. But I don't have time for all that. I am just wondering who asked Yelp to nit pik through and withhold reviews that a real person took the time to write. It's BS- if I did - (which I don't)- I would want to make my own decision based on All the reviews customers had written - good and bad. I think it's very presumptuous of Yelp to decide for other people whether or not they see what they are literally on Yelp to see in the first place.

  • Listia

10/23/18

It's been a few years since I've used Listia- but the way they did things and what I lost still keeps me up at nights. I had used the site for years and actually really loved it. Right around the time I started a new job, I had a bunch of auctions end. I had a hard time making it to the post office to ship some of the items and so I sent messages to the winners to please file a dispute so I could refund their credits. All but 1 did and left me a 5 star review still. 1 customer left a 1 star review and based on that Listia completely shut down my account with no warning or option to tell my side or anything. I couldn't even log in to attempt to contact customer service. I found out while I was literally sitting in the post office parking lot after I had just shipped several items and tried to log in to update the tracking numbers. So about 6 things I had just shipped -which cost me money- GONE. My points I had been saving (over 1 million)- GONE. One of the things that I had auctioned was a 1960 Barbie doll (sold for 1 million credits) and I got Nothing for it in the end. It still keeps me up at nights as I watch the value for the Barbie go up over the years. So, basically- I paid to lose my brand new, quality, valuable items. Listias excuse why this was ok? Because there was never any real money involved. Only credits, which Listia owned. WTH? Of course, there was money involved. Those credits had a monetary value no matter what they claim. If I could buy them with cash, then they have value. Want to close down my account, fine. Whatever. I'll live. But to keep the credits I earned from Selling my stuff- regardless of the 'currency' with no option to even hurry up and spend them or maybe cash them out or anything was the lowest, most shady thing I have ever experienced. It's stealing. I hope all those f***ers lose everything.
