This business sold me a sconce on Chairish which they misrepresented as having up to date wiring. The sconce (which I paid over $300 for) fell apart a few months following installation and I contacted a local repair person, who let me know that the wiring was not up to snuff (in addition to the structure of the item falling apart). Upon contacting the shop to ask them how they wanted to resolve the issue, they blocked my email address and deleted the original exchange over Chairish where I asked them about the wiring and they responded with dishonest information that it was in great shape. I recommend that you avoid purchasing items from this reseller on Chairish, Etsy, etc given their dishonesty and unprofessional conduct.

Update: The seller has written a response and it's full of misinformation, so I wanted to respond: I never rated the purchase as positive (this isn't a feature on Chairish to my knowledge), and the sconce was in fact successfully installed but fell apart within 5 months of use. By "use", I mean sitting on the wall after being installed by a professional electrician, so nothing that would precipitate a quality item to simply fall apart as this sconce did. I did not leave inappropriate comments on Chairish, though I did attempt to contact the seller through Chairish after attempting to contact them via email with a respectful inquiry regarding how they planned to resolve the issue I had with the item I had purchased from them. The seller proceeded to block my email after I contacted them, so I resorted to attempting to contact them through Chairish, which I did one time only by commenting on the page of the item that I purchased indicating that I was trying to resolve the issue with the product I purchased. My comment was quickly deleted and was never responded to.

Chairish has not resolved the issue in favor of the seller. I am still in touch with them regarding a resolution, so that is also inaccurate.

This company is unethical and dishonest. I have purchased antiques and vintage items through Chairish, Etsy, 1st Dibs, and from brick and mortar stores on dozens of occasions without issue and do not have unreasonable expectations regarding the quality and durability of antique and vintage home decor items, which are often fragile given their age. This experience was quite extraordinary, as the product I purchased was clearly of poor quality and inexpertly restored and the behavior of the seller in response to my asking them to stand behind their reputation and the quality of products that they sell by making things right is revealing about their business dealings.

I've written this off as a loss at this point: lesson learned about doing homework on who you are purchasing from (and lesson learned that not everyone selling on Chairish is vetted) and am not expecting any financial resolution. My only hope is that I can help others from repeating my mistake in purchasing an expensive item from this seller and expecting anything of quality or professional business conduct.

In short, I do not recommend purchasing products from this reseller if you value honesty, integrity, or quality.
