I'm kind of new to Classic Industries but pretty impressed so far. After thoroughly shopping around, they have earned my business for a 1980 Camaro and a 1966 Mustang, by having competitive prices and excellent product selection. Two orders, one for each car, have been filled correctly. I fully expect to use them more in the future.

I am really surprised to see so many negative reviews about Summit Racing. It's is an excellent company that you can trust. In over 30 years as a customer, I have never had a problem returning a purchase if I needed to. They are very clear about which products they have in stock, and when they expect to ship the products they don't. Their customer service is responsive and tries to be helpful. It's not realistic to think they can be experts on everything - one poor seat recommendation comes to mind - but I have found their advice to be worth asking for, and better than their competitors'. Summit's recent (from a 30-year perspective) entry into restoration parts is a welcome development. I recommend Summit to anyone, and can attest from personal experience that Jeg's can't even come close.

When I needed to return two phones for a reason that was my fault, they let me, and even paid for shipping. The service reps I talked to were courteous and helpful. I was so pleased with the ease of the return that I didn't even consider another brand for my next purchase; it was Motorola all the way. They get your order out quickly, and most of the Motorola phones I've had have worked well and lasted a long time. There's also less bloatware installed compared to a Samsung phone I own.

Firstrade offered free trades at a time when other brokers were charging about $5 per trade. Back then I would put up with long phone wait times to get free trades. But now every broker offers free trades, and Firstrade's service has gone down, not up. Twice today I waited on the phone for over 30 minutes, only to have the system hang up on me. Not good when you have a problem that needs a human solution.

I contacted Dakota Digital to make sure that the gauges I was thinking of buying would work for my application, and that I wouldn't be missing anything needed for them to work. Glad I did. The information I got back was very helpful, very thorough (each question answered fully), and very complete (all questions answered). My follow-up questions were just as well answered. In the end, I had a great impression of Dakota Digital and am pleased to have ordered their gauges.

Tip for consumers:
If you have any doubts at all about the suitability of a gauge or gauges for your application, ask 'em.

I'm really impressed with Corbeau. I emailed their tech department looking for some product advice, and the reply was really helpful. My follow-up questions were welcomed and always answered quickly. It's a rare company that is as good at customer engagement as these guys. And, importantly, I'm really happy with the seats we settled on.

Tip for consumers:
Before buying some seats that might or might not be what you want, contact them for recommendations.

I have used eBay for a long time. It used to be really simple to use. It was a great way to get rid of unneeded stuff around the house. But not only did it get more complex - and correspondingly harder to use - over time, it also just plain doesn't work as well. I use Mozilla Firefox, and I dare anyone to print an eBay return label from it - if you succeed, you're more technically savvy that I am, and I'm an engineer. I finally gave up and printed it from Chrome. It's not like there are dozens of browsers out there; asking eBay to support Firefox is hardly unreasonable.

[2021 Update] My review from a couple of years ago seems quaint! Since then, I have figured out just how high their fees are: I sold a video card for $250. My buyer in Georgia paid $268 due to sales tax. I netted $217. My buyer paid 23% more than I got!

Secondly: When you can't sell "And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street" by Dr. Seuss on eBay (see screenshot) because it's too offensive, it's time to find a new place to sell.

I've ordered twice from Jegs. (Shouldn't it be "Jeg's"?)

Order #1 - They charged me the wrong sales tax - more than double what it should be. It is super easy to verify someone's correct tax; all you need is their address. This is the only business I know of that can't get it right. After two phone calls trying to take care of it, in which both individuals told me they couldn't fix it but knew who could, nothing has happened, and it's been more than a week.

Order #2 - I ordered a Jegs-brand automatic transmission on November 29th. The order confirmation said the estimated ship date was January 1st. With two days to go (December 29th), they send me a new estimated ship date - April 5th! The 3 people I spoke to about it weren't rude, but neither were they helpful; nobody could explain how in the space of one month the delivery date slipped four months, or why they didn't tell me sooner. Nor did they do anything at all to make it right; "sorry" is all I got. Sorry, indeed.

I've done business with their competitor, Summit Racing, for over 30 years, and Summit on their worst day is better than Jegs, based on my two experiences. There won't be a third.

Shop Summit Racing and Yogi's before ordering from Jegs.

I would love to tell the world how I feel about FedEx Freight, and they deserve it, but there are no words that are both printable and strong enough. They scheduled a delivery to my house. I waited for the driver all day. He didn't show up, call, or text - nothing. I talked to FedEx the next morning, and there was no apology, just "the driver couldn't make it, and we'd like to re-schedule". I didn't complain, just said okay. This time the driver showed. As a courtesy, I unloaded it with my skid-steer and forks, and didn't make them get it to the ground like they were paid to do. Everything was friendly between me and the driver. So, I'm thinking it's all over. Two months later, I get 3-page bill from FedEx Freight that has so many line items that I can't tell what the bill is for, but the bottom line is $148 due. The next morning I call the phone number on the bill, and am informed that it's a "re-delivery fee". What? Not only that, it can't be resolved by these folks; I need to call the local office (the Henderson location). But by the way, they're closed today and tomorrow. Merry Christmas!

I sent my '97 Viper stereo to The Viper Store (a. K. a. Hot Car Accessories) to repair not being able to eject a CD. $250 later, I got the stereo back, and it did seem to be fixed. Less than a year and exactly one drive later, the 5th CD played since I got the stereo back wouldn't eject. Hot Car Accessories politely told me that it's out of warranty and therefore my problem. In my experience, reputable businesses take better care of their customers than that.

Nowhere else could I find Eaton GBKP10 and GBKP10P ground bars that could be ordered online, without making phone calls. I won't say the price was great; when you're the only choice, you can pretty much charge what you want. My order arrived fairly quickly, was correct, and I finally could complete the installation of my shed's sub-panel.

I ordered 4 conductors needed to run 240V to my shed: 4-gauge black, white, and red, and 6-gauge copper. The price beat the heck out of Home Depot and Lowes. The order arrived quickly. Not being a trusting sort, I measured one of the conductors. It was just slightly longer than the amount I had ordered. Perfect!

The Motorola G7 is listed on Twigby's site as a phone that supports WiFi calling. Because of that, I bought two Motorola G7 Power phones. Well, guess what? WiFi calling didn't work - the phone didn't have the settings shown in the how-to-enable-WiFi-calling article. So, I had a chat session with one of their tech support folks. Completely unhelpful - all they wanted to do was argue about my use of the word "incompatible" - they stated (repeatedly) that my phone was NOT incompatible, while also stating that SOME Moto G7 Powers don't have "the right firmware" to support WiFi calling, and basically informing me that I was out of luck. That's what I call "incompatible", but then again, I only have a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering - what do I know?!?!?

P.s. I switched to Republic Wireless, and WiFi calling works great - using the exact same phone.

Tip for consumers:
Use Republic Wireless instead.
