Have recently tried to get car insurance through (read on you will see why heading is Lloyds). Filled out all the fields including the illness as panel as DVLA AWARE - no restrictions as I have type 2 diabetes. The cheapest quote was Lloyds bank car insurance so phoned them up gave them the quote number and everything was okay they confirmed the amount.

Just as a last thing I just wanted to confirm the accident details had gone through and my medical info had gone through. Knowing insurance use anything not to pay out on a claim. The accident had gone through okay but the medical info was an issue and a customer service person would be needed to input it as diabetes on the system. So was put through to one and after she put it on she then declared that the insurance was NO LONGER available to me. The next quote then goes from just over £300 to about £450. I pointed out that this was illegal to withhold insurance under the Disability Discrimination Act to which she started arguing it was not. Needless to say I did not go with them on the insurance and I am making reviews everywhere now because of this. I will also be issuing formal complaints against Lloyds bank for this as well and see how they like it as they think they can get away with it.

I bought a phone for my wife from the Birmingham branch in town. It was freezing from time to time but taking out the battery would solve it. However, 8 months down the line and it totally froze. Took it to 'The FORT' branch only to be told we had to deal direct with the manufacturer. Bad mistake as I know my rights under the sale of goods act and I do not take a fob off too lightly. I made it clear that under the sale of goods act my contract is with THEM not the manufacturer and I want them to deal with it. Then they try the line well we can send it off for repair but it will cost you £19.99 for the that. I again point out the sale of goods act and that THEY are responsible for it. So the woman gets onto the help line and low and behold they can send it off without cost (funny that). Well we get a text off their own technicians saying it is beyond repair and that the phone has been sent back to the store where we took it in. So today we go to pick it up and find it still has not been sent back there so a wasted journey. However, my wife did ask well how do we get a refund then and she was plainly told 'you don't you just walk away with the phone'. At this I point out that they are breaking the law under the sale of goods act. 'We are not' was the answer and if you want the trading standards number I will get it for you. At which point I said I don't need it I will just take you to F'ing court for breach of contract under the sale of goods act and we walked out the store. Yes they did get me to loose my temper a bit, but it is clear this company THINKS it can just sell non working stock and get away with it breaking every sales law in the country. I will be going the legal route which means if it goes to court I can claim for travel, loss of earnings, costs for preparing the cast and interest on it all as well.
Oh and if i could have given them no stars it would have been too much.




This review is about ASDA as a whole not the website as a warning to others about how they THINK they can get away with treating people. Unfortunately I can only give it a 1 star it should be negative stars!!!!!

In the last (I think) 3 weeks there has been 2 incidents. First one was we ordered shopping to be delivered but we get a phone call saying the van had been in an accident but we would get our delivery that day. They short of it was the delivery time came and went but no delivery and I spent a bit of time phoning about to find out what was happening. Think it was 3 calls to their so called customer service which is really a line to call and just get a reply - we cant help you. After phoning the store direct we were told that THEY told customer service that no one who had not been delivered to would get their orders that day. We had to then wast our time to quickly drive to that store and manually do the shop. By the way this is the second time they have used this excuse in the last say 3 months. They do not have spare vans/drivers for when this does happen. I even asked them because this was the second time they used this reason if they trained their drivers as demolition derby drivers.

Issue 2 happened today. We placed an order on the night but this morning found we had to go out. I phoned the (so called useless) customer service number and explained and asked for it to be put back if possible. They said they could not push it back as much as I wanted but not to worry as even though the time slot was 2-4 it was actually in for 3-4. Short of it is we did manage to get back for 2.40pm only to find they had called just after 2pm. Spent several minutes on the phone again to customer service over this issue only to basically be told tough luck your not getting it today. My response was as an equal - you just lost a customer, you are also getting some free advertising as well of the bad sort and i will be issuing a formal complaint to head office as well.


I have ordered a battery from this place as well. It was ordered on the 29/04/12 and I chased it up a few days later when the status had not even been changed. They said they have sent it and then changed the status to dispatched. However, they are using a uk web address but the 2nd tacking number is with singpost!!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY they are not that cheap anyway. I found one the same on Amazon for less than half the price afterwards.

UPDATE - The battery has arrived and seems to be okay. It took a number of days past what they stated as the delivery which was supposed to be 6-10 days. The tracking number is a bit of a joke though as you can not actually track it from it as they send it to the equivalent of recorded delivery which only tracks ONCE delivered at the address. Have left the pay pal dispute live though as to give the battery a good test and it will auto close anyway if i do not raise a claim.
