I have been using this site for YEARS now, both as a member and listener. I have never paid for the actual licensed therapy so I'm not sure how that is but I can give you my thoughts on the former 2.

Having someone that will listen to your problems and provide support is vital to my everyday mental health. It isn't easy to tell your problems to someone you know so this a great confidential alternative. The listeners however, are not qualified to give you advice. You should not go into this thinking this is going to be a free therapy session. Everyone seems to want to help and if by the rare occurrence you run into a listener that is trying to give you bad advice or trolling/abusing, there is a report button and 7 Cups seems to take that very seriously.

As a listener, I feel this is such a great way to give back and show support for everyone that has helped not only grow this community, but that has helped me when I was needing it most. I find joy in listening to others' problems and helping other people. I also love that you can legitimately use this as volunteer work on a resume.

Ultimately, I love the layout of the website (however the app needs some work), ease of use, and the community. It just feels like one big platform of people trying to help each other.

First of all, they either pay people to leave positive reviews, or the reviews are from people who work for the company (that goes for reviews on other platforms too, INCLUDING THEIR OWN WEBSITE, and also delete negative reviews on their own website).

Secondly, their shampoo and conditioner do not do anything. I have tried several different combinations and did not see any visible results after using the entire bottles, both times. For the price of around 50 dollars, it is SO not worth it. This stuff should be priced about 10-20 dollars given the value.

Thirdly, the way they handled a situation just turned me off from them COMPLETLY! Let me explain. I ordered another shampoo and conditioner (giving them a third and final try) in May. I understand this is during the COVID crisis so did not put up a fuss about a longer than normal delivery time. After 2 whole months of waiting, I got an email that said my package was delivered. I looked everywhere around my mailbox and did not see a package. I contacted FoB, AND the USPS to try to figure this out. Long story short, FoB sent me another package for free. Well, I didn't receive that one either (another month had passed). They refused to give me a refund because I said I did not want a third replacement after dealing with them for MONTHS! I finally had to contact my bank and issue a chargeback claim for a fraudulent company. I got my money back through my bank but this is the last time I will EVER buy anything or even speak a word about this company unless it's something negative.
