“Uncomfortable tops”

I would expect tops and dresses to fall at one's natural waist (around the navel) however, the dress I bought, while absolutely beautiful, had the waist fall just at my last rib, causing both discomfort and quite the awkward silhouette. I simply donated it and don't plan on buying again.
