Given the COVID situation here in Ontario and being in a total lockdown, I did something I've never done... ordered grocery online.
On the 15th of January (yesterday) I found the items I needed and proceeded to checkout with their complicated order forms. No where, as I went through the 3 steps of ordering, did it say that the nearby Walmart store I was ordering from, did not have home delivery and it would be handled by a 3rd party.
This morning, the order was delivered. Of the 21 items I had ordered only 11 were delivered.
Called the Walmart 3 blocks from my home, asking for the rest of the items. That is the 1st time I was told about the 3rd party involvement. Practically, the order was sent to the said 3rd party and the 3rd party goes to Walmart and does the shopping. Also had I opted for a pick up instead, the shopping would have been done by an employee and I only had to pick it up.
Question? If this 3rd party was able to get in the store, why couldn't I? I'm not an invalid... yet.
After waiting more than 45 minutes on a cell phone and after closing the communication because I realized no one was ever going to come-on. I redialed and, finally someone did come on the phone, what I believed to be from a call centre because the connection was one of the worst i've ever been on. What this person told me was exactly the opposite of what the person on the store level told me. As a result, I'm still missing 10 items while I paid for 21. When asked about the refund, I was told it will take 5-6 days to get it.
Like I said, 1st time ever buying grocery online from Walmart and, I guarantee you, it will be the last.
I'm giving 1 stars for the honesty of the employee I spoke with from the store. All the rest deserve a 0.
One other thing I forgot to mention, why wasn't the grocery bill included with the bags?
