I have been studying web design on and off for years and learning HTML 5 most recently. I had never heard of http://www.w3.org until very recently for some reason. I have found the site to be one of the most valuable resources on learning web design.

I gave up on my strobes when I started doing both video and photos with my canon 5DMII DSLR. The room was a mess with both continuous lights and strobes. I found fovitec from strobist website and have been happy with the brand. The lights are very well balanced and do not show any color casting. They are easy to use and work perfectly for video. I will admit that for photography, you will end up shooting on a higher ISO. I shot with iso 100 with my strobes all of the time and now I am at about 400. This means you do need a DSLR with low noise to use these types of lights. Not a bad trade off though. Their prices are very competitive too.

I bought a beauty dish from paulcbuff and it has excellent shadowless lighting for the price of this light. The housing is solid and build quality is good for the price. The base is all plastic and easily mounts on my camera. I liked how good their customer service was on the phone and they helped me select the correct portable power source for this light.

The site may seem like free TV on your PC and that you can stop your cable TV subscription, but this is hardly the case. You do get some free TV shows but if you think you are going to get free HBO, first rate movies, etc... go elsewhere

5 dollars per month is such a good deal for their business software. The calander functions and ability to share word docs within a small business is great. We used to try and use google docs but this is much better and for the price of a coffee per month it is worth the expense.

This is one of the first free remote pc software that was available and they have done an amazing job of keeping it up to date and bug free. Very slick interface and remarkably easy to use. I don't know how companies that make paid versions of remote desktop control can compete with this free version.

Looking for free online dating and sick of craigslist... - Great site, its free and tons of hot chicks... what more do you want?

XPS notebook - I bought the new XPS notebook and it is the most amazing, lightweight notebook I have ever seen. I would recommend getting it with the cingular or verizon card to get the high speed internet. Otherwise if you get it from verizon/cingular it won't be built in and it sticks out of the slick laptop. I'd also recommend the 7200 rpm drives... they are still really quiet and so much faster.

Cell phones for drug dealers - I love these phones, I'm not a drug dealer, but I do like to give out my phone number and have nobody know who I am. Its great for going to clubs and scoring some X or picking up on girls and giving them a fake name. The phones cost $20 each, so they are extremely affordable. I got four of them... and four girlfriends :P

Great for reviews and selling gear - this is one of the few forums that allow you to post your own gear and sell/trade it, for that reason alone it is worthwhile joining the community. Once people know you, they are more willing to buy your used gear. Better than ebay or craigslist for buying equipment.

Best site for gear - I love this site for buying equipment at great prices, plus they have a good return policy. You don't realize how important a good return policy is until you get a defective product. I'd highly recommend this site.

You have a hard drive full of photos and you have no idea what to do with them? Sell them. Put the best ones on istockphoto and make sure you tag them with the proper words and someone in the world will find it useful and buy it from you.

No longer a free site, but you can really learn about photography if you read all of the reviews. It helps if you critique other members with quality work as they will in turn give you a critique of your photos. The best way to learn is to get solid critique from the experienced photographers
