After being on this site for numerous months, the scam is very clear.

***SEE MY UPDATES OVER MULTIPLE YEARS, BELOW***

Their slogan is "Love knows no boundaries". Here are the boundaries that will make sure you never see any love.

- There is a "free chat" which only allows you 3 minutes before having to pay (a ridiculous amount of money). Once you chat free with a woman for 3 minutes, you may never do so again.
- This "introductory" site prohibits and blocks an attempts to share email addresses to communicate for free off the site. Not much of an introduction if you have to stay on the paid site, is it?
- The little chat boxes that pop up and the message sent to you are all automatic - done by staff members.
- You get no direct communication, even if they are "fluent" in english. This is how they strip out any attempt to communicate off the site.
- I put the word "GREEN" in my profile and clearly stipulated that any mail or chat attempts to me should mention this word. Never happened in the THOUSANDS of automated emails and chat requests.
- Beware the "counter reviews"... its very clear that people are paid to post good reviews of this site (conveniently with no details, or links to any real facebook pages or documented success stories);
- Their tons of "Anastasia in the media" articles are all coverage of their media campaigns (two chicks in a sports car).

Do your own research, try it out (without paying). You'll see.

Scam, scam, scam.

UPDATE APRIL 2015:
I see that Anastasia date is hard at work paying people to review their site and give it 5 stars to bring up the overall rating. Easy way to pick these idiots out is simply to see that they've only reviewed ONE site, and they have an absolutely awesome success story.

UPDATE APRIL 2016:
Well, I just wanted to see if anything has changed in the years since I've left the site, so I hopped on... (see images below)... and it's only become WORSE. There used to be an ability to preview letters... now gone. So all those scamming women get to send you form letters that clearly are fabricated and having nothing whatsoever to do with what you are looking for, and you have to pay 10 credits (approximately $5.00US) to open every single letter... see photo... 24 message, 10 credits each, in one day... $50 US to get scammed, every day. Wow AD, you really know how to make money - no wonder you can send women in convertible sports cars over to the USA to promote your site.

Of course, the chat is as lame as always, unsolicited, unfiltered by the age you are looking for, and completely irrelevant to your profile.

Steer Clear! (still...)

Tip for consumers:
A tip? DONT USE IT. Use pof.com or any other free site. You'll never get a real woman to communicate with you aside from this extremely expensive service.

Definitely a complete scam... if you watch the ending auctions, the same "people" are bidding over and over again... obviously people are paid to pump up the ending price and suck the money away from regular people.

In addition, all of the "awesome deals" are just nonexistent. Try searching for anything popular... iPhone, LED TV, LCD TV... the listings are all "Buy Now" items. Nothing for auction.

You pay $. 60 per bid, only to be instantly outbid every time until the magic price is reached (so you'll pay hundreds for the item and hundreds for the bidding). PAYING MONEY for permission to buy something? That's a joke.

Save your $60 and put it towards something real, or you'll end up spending hundreds for items you'll never see.

Tip for consumers:
Read the reviews everywhere for yourself (not on their site).

Sorry to hear this has been your impression of QuiBids, John. We are proud to inform you that all practices involving QuiBids are transparent and honest. Below, you may view information pertaining to our auction model:

QuiBids 101

http://www.quibids.com/en/quibids101/

Help Section

http://www.quibids.com/en/help/

Additionally, QuiBids recently passed an independent third-party audit of our integrity and internal controls. The following PDF file explains the audit in full detail: http :// s1. Quibidscdn. Com/documents/QuiBids%20Report%20including%20Management%27s%20Report. Pdf
Let me provide some insight that will help you understand the value in using QuiBids. Each bid costs just $0.60. These bids are pre-paid and placed in your Bids Account. Each time you place a bid, your Bids Account is deducted one bid. Once a bid is placed the auction price will go up in one cent increments. A maximum of 20 seconds is also added to the timer every time someone bids. This gives enough time for someone else to make the decision to bid if they're interested. This is similar to the “Going once... Going twice... SOLD!” approach of traditional auctions.

If you are the top bidder when the timer reaches zero, you win! You will then pay the ending auction price as well as the cost of shipping. If you do not win, you lose your bids that have been placed; however, we offer a "Buy Now" feature on all auctions. When you use our “Buy Now” feature, we subtract the cash value of the bids you’ve placed (excluding voucher bids) from the value price of the item, and you only have to pay the difference.

Let's say you spend 30 bids trying to win a $30 valued product, but you don't win. Your 30 bids are worth $18 (30 x $0.60), so if you choose to use the "Buy Now', you would pay $12 plus shipping for the product. *Please note that this offer applies to real bids only, and that voucher bids to do not apply to the ‘Buy Now’ option. This feature limits the risk in participating in our auctions, as we offer the "Buy Now" feature on all of our auctions!

In spite of the good attempt of this site, the end result is that it is as exclusionary as real Christians often are in real life - creating their own little cliques that you can't be part of.

I'm a Christian, I'm divorced (unfortunately). I can't join ChristianMingle. Why not? Because they want me to scan my divorce certificate and send it to them as "proof". Are you kidding me?!? I can get a credit card with less proof. You want me to scan my personal information and send it to a virtual company? HAHAHAHA... Seriously.

Update your policies, people. If I'm honest enough to admit that I'm divorced, chances are that I am really and truly divorced. Otherwise, I could just lie and say I'm single, like half the other people on the site.

*UPDATE*: March 2015. After receiving THOUSANDS of emails from "interested women", in spite of unanswered emails to their administrative team, I decided to change my profile picture (to the ones listed below). Within hours... they disabled my account completely. Wow... after months of trying to get my account removed, all I had to do was post the truth?!? If only I had known.

If you want to see their fake "reviews", check them out at http://gloriabrides.com/#!STORIES

How can you tell they are fake? Well, the grammar is the exact same quality of poor in all of them, in spite of the authors being all over the world (Including USA and UK and Australia). Lovely fake reviews.

Tip for consumers:
Don't spend money when you can never get the lady's real contact information. Do your research and look for the detailed reviews from guys who actually visited there, and were scammed horribly.

I've been here since 2014, writing the occasional review when things really "get to me".

Today, I had to make changes to my account here, and realized I had no way of changing my email address (Sitejabber, take note - you should allow this, people change their email sometimes as often as their internet provider or phone. :) ).

I submitted a request, and within less than 2 hours, I was contacted by their customer support team (Traci, thank you for the excellent service). A quick exchange, a verification with the new/old email, and voila - done.

Well done, Ladies and Gentlemen. That alone gets you 5 stars for customer service in a world where internet anonymity breeds laziness and complacency.

However, you also get 5 stars for maintaining transparency, and by holding companies accountable by providing this platform. In the past, my reviews of companies have been overshadowed by a flood of "false positives", and this too was addressed with vigour by the support staff.

This site recognizes that integrity and service is important. Thank you, Sitejabber, for the great years of service you have provided.

  • Dell CA

5/28/19

My first Dell was purchased in 2006. I have experience. I'm an IT "wiz (whiz)". I'm not a teenager. I've purchased four Dell computers in 13 years, and I'm finally speaking up.

ISSUE 1 - Pricing
Dell has always built a relatively solid product. However, this is no longer 1990 where you "get what you pay for". Now it's about cost and value, plain and simple. Dell no longer supplies a valuable commodity at decent prices. If you follow a specific 2 or 3 computers for two months, you'll see what I mean - various prices and swapping of components to make you seem like you are getting more value, but in reality the corporation swaps inferior components for the same price.
Example: NVidia makes two version of the GTX 1060, 3GB and 6GB models. Dell routinely swaps one for the other AT THE SAME PRICE without notice to the consumer.

ISSUE 2: Lying (Foreign) online sales agents
If you visit Dell.ca and talk to a sales person online to "get a deal" they will quote you specific items in chat, then pressure you to immediately call them to close the deal. Who does that in this day and age of comparative shopping?!?
Example: I asked three different sales agents (who are clearly from India based on timing and language) to send me a quote based on our chat "deal". I either (a) never receive a quote, or (b) receive a quote that is totally different (ala above example swapping a 3GB video card for a 6GB video card AT THE SAME PRICE).

End result: Dishonesty, poor pricing, extremely poor value vs. their US counterpart (take a look at Black Friday sales on Dell.Com vs. Dell.CA and you'll see what I mean - even with the $$ exchange rates).

Final point: Dell Canada used to make a great product for great value. Now their warranties are under-covered, prices are too high, and components are substandard.

2019 UPDATE:
Dear fellow readers,

Let me be clear - I've been a long-time supporter of Dell products - and still am.

Every product, but 1 (that's 4 total), that I've purchased has been a stellar performer. In fact, I'm still using a 13-year old computer on which I write this.

However - BE WARNED. Once DELL has your money, if you want it back, you will suffer dearly.

I ordered a laptop in 2011 - it came DOA (Dead On Arrival, for you non-techies). I called Dell, and they informed me that I would have to be processed through their warranty department.

To coin a pop-culture phrase, "Wait, What?"

I just purchased a brand-new product, which has never operated, and has been in-hand for less than an hour, and I have to return this via the WARRANTY department?!? I think not. I returned the laptop under their 30-day no hassle return, AND got a significant deal to buy another (better) laptop at the same price. That laptop I still use to this day (2011-2019). Unfortunately, it took me about 5 hours on the phone, with numerous people, and then an additional 5 weeks to get there.

Fast forward to 2019. I'm ready for a new (gaming) desktop. Great item on-sale, on-line. I order based on the 5-8 day delivery timeframe posted on their site. Here ensues the circus of failure that is commonplace to Dell.

1. Ordered on August 5. Once I click "submit" on my order, the website-advertised 5-8 day delivery instantly changes to 11-14 (with a delivery date of 28 August - by my counting, that's 17 BUSINESS DAYS, not 11-14). OK, I've waited a few years, I can wait an extra two weeks.

2. August 9 - I see the exact same desktop with a 200% better video card, identical computer, for the same price. I contact Dell to indicate I would like the better deal. No big deal, seeing as my delivery date is 4 weeks out, right? WRONG, they cannot change the order, but offer me $50 credit for my inconvenience. I decline, indicate that the price for the different video card is around $200, so I would like my computer to have the same deal. End result, I need to cancel my order and re-order the new one.

3. I cancel the order on Aug 9, Service Request submitted (after the online form "conveniently" goes to a Page Not Found, and after fighting with the chat agent for 20 minutes.

4. August 12. My order has shipped. "Wait, What?" how can it have shipped 7 days after I submitted my order, 3 days after I requested a refund for a non-complete system?!? I contact them by phone AND chat. "Sorry, we cannot process your refund because the order has been, or is, in production and is, or is preparing to be, shipped".

You're joking, right?

DELL: "But do not worry, after the order is received, you can return it, and 10-15 days after it is re-stocked, you can receive a refund".

Here's the caveat - after the order is shipped, you have to pay a "re-stocking fee". Yes, that's right - I have to pay a fee for a computer I don't want, cancelled BEFORE it was shipped - but they shipped it anyway.

DELL: "Do not worry. We will contact the shipper and have the shipping cancelled. We will then re-stock the item and you can receive a refund in 10-15 business days".

"Wait, What?" You're going to make me wait essentially a MONTH, for a refund on a computer I did not want, cancelled the order of, and will never receive or sign for?

How is any of this fair, equitable, or good customer service in any way!?!?

It isn't.

  • Diacan

4/30/16

So, my first experience with this Toronto-based company has been sour at best. After searching a mere 20 minutes, I have already found so many issues with this site it's discouraged me from even giving them a second look. I challenge the owner of this business to respond to this review with something constructive.

I've been looking for a Canadian Diamond engagement ring. My requirements are:
1. D-F coloring
2. Excellent cut or better
3. VS1 clarity or better
4. Proof of Canadian origin
5. GSI/DIA certificate of assessment for the value and integrity of the diamond/company
6. A picture of the diamond.

So, here's how DIACAN rates:

1. D-F coloring
2. Excellent cut or better
3. VS1 clarity or better

Yes, DIACAN has these, but beware of their false labels of diamonds that are poorer quality (see the attached pictures and see the difference between what they label on their website vs. the official assessement certificate).

4. Proof of Canadian origin

Not available. I sent an email inquiry about numerous diamonds and received no response.

5. GSI/GIA certificate of assessment for the value and integrity of the diamond/company

Many of the diamonds have certificates. Quite a few do not. Beware of their false labels of diamonds that are poorer quality (see the attached pictures and see the difference between what they label on their website vs. the official assessement certificate).

6. A picture of the diamond.

NOT available. Not a single diamond has a picture, except for a generic picture that they also use against the poor quality pictures of their settings.

Other issues:
- You can't search by setting type such as # of prongs.
- No response from customer service via email (after a few days). If I can't even get an answer before I buy, imagine how frustrated I would be if I purchased and had a problem!

Conclusion:
The fact that so many diamonds are mislabelled and that customer service does not respond really makes me believe this online store is lacking in integrity and the ability to maintain effective customer relations. When considering an enormously expensive purchase like a custom diamond ring, integrity and response time should be absolutely at the top of the list on a business' priority.

Tip for consumers:
Go to a jewellery store. They have better diamonds, the certificates on-hand, and you don't have to worry about non-responsive customer service.

• Updated review

Although I've not been on this site for well over a year, it still has the same problems - scammers, fake pictures permitted for women and not for men, and little-to-no-support.

They introduced a "verification" method that sends a text to a cell phone, but as we all know, scammers have phones too, so... what's the point?

Should be called POS.
12/22/17
• Previous review

This site has officially become too big for itself. Instead of Plenty of Fish, it should be renamed to Piece of Sh&*.

ISSUE 1- Extremely poor policies.
Example 1: Your account can be deleted for a variety of reasons, whether you paid or not, and you have no chance to recover it. It's just deleted. Period. No notification, no reason, just deleted.

Example 2: Reporting users or images. This only works for women, not men. As a man, if you report images or profiles, they stay posted on the site for weeks or months (forever in some cases). For women, images that are fake or perceived as fake are deleted within SECONDS (along with your account).

ISSUE 2- No response from customer service.
Example 1: Reporting users yields NO response.
Example 2: Using the "contact us" yields NO response.
Example 3: Request a review of your account in any way yields NO response.

ISSUE 3- Failure to provide the service they advertise.
As of this writing, In Canada alone, POF has HUNDREDS of complaints against them at the BBB for the category "Problem with Product/Service". They are also under investigation by Federal authorities (CRTC).

They have even tried changing their review status (allegedly) by having multiple addresses to split the negative reviews (the complaints however, appear to have been merged).

Tip for consumers:
DON'T.

It's free.
It's tempting.
It's filled with scammer.
You won't get your money back.

Although they have an excellent foundation (Christian, the Owner's own book about Wealth), and the parents have built a solid reputation based on honesty and hard work, some of their people need serious lessons in customer service, commitment to clients and value for the money.

Beware of writing negative reviews of some of their sales people - they'll immediately stick you with a legal attack to force you to withdraw and keep their ratings up, and they delete negative reviews from their own Facebook page.

Considering the high cost of services in a competitive market, the services are lacking and need refinement/accuracy.

When you hire a real estate agent and pay them tens of thousands of dollars from your profit, you have high expectations. Period. Some of the people at this organization do NOT deliver. Unfortunately, I can't name the specific person I have in mind due to their pre-dispostion to "lawyer up" the second they see their name online, but this should make you wary of the organization as a whole.

2/9/15

417 bus lines, for the purpose of this review, is a commuter bus service to/from Ottawa and the nearby suburban residential areas.

The best things about 417 (Bus Lines) is that you don't have to drive the commute, get stuck in traffic, and pay for parking. The drivers are friendly and generally experienced and timely.

The worst things about 417 is that some of the buses are dirty, in a poor state mechanically, and fill-in drivers are not sufficiently briefed on the commuter routes. Some of the drivers are long retired (and probably should stay that way), with shaking hands, poor reaction time and a general inability to understand that commuters don't want to feel like they are riding on a school bus, being jarred to-and-fro with jerky steering or brakes pumping while you are trying to read or drink your coffee.

=============================
FROM THE WEBSITE:
Travel and work are two good reasons to climb aboard a 417 Bus Line Ltd vehicle. We have over 56 years of experience in the transportation industry which means you can count on us to bring you to your destination safely and efficiently!

With our fleet of modern coaches and mini-coaches, we can accommodate any number of passengers. We also have specialized adapted vehicles for people with special needs.
=============================

Fleet of modern coaches?!? No wi-fi, poor repair, doors that don't close, no heat in the winter (Canadian winter, I might add). For $100 less, you can take the Ottawa City Transit, with the same "amenities", and actually get to work on time.

417 Bus Lines, my suggestion to you is to take some of the substantial profit you are making from the monthly passes (ie., guaranteed income) and invest back into your regular passengers.

If I see any changes, I will revisit this review in six months.

Tip for consumers:
The drivers are very friendly and nice for the most part, since most of them are retired from other driving careers (this is a good and bad thing, really).

This site forces "valid" reviews to reveal your real name and use a real invoice. This is their way of promoting legitimacy, but because this information is revealed to the companies that you are reviewing, you are subject to legal and punitive action for negative reviews! I was personally threatened by both a company owner AND their lawyer that I would be brought to court if I didn't remove my review (which was very fair and did not name anyone personally).

NOTE: This review applies to both Bank Street Mazda and Performance Mazda.

As you all know, a new car purchase is a "life event". Many people purchase used cars for the majority of their adult life, and not everyone is blessed to be able to afford a new car.

For the first time in my life, I am in that position - a new vehicle is an attainable goal for me, and worth the extra money for safety and security as a single parent.

With this in mind, I have embarked on my search - to find the most car I can afford for the best price - and hope for a few niceties thrown in!:)

Over the past month I've been gathering statistics, prices and value-for-the-money information on numerous vehicles, and decided to consider giving a chance to Mazda. However, I was extremely disappointed in the "hard approach" these people have - perhaps a corporate directive of some sort - to NOT provide pricing by email.

I work a full-time job, live outside my local major city (hence away from most dealerships) have kids and family commitments, and yet even after stating this multiple times, I've been unable to secure any pricing whatsoever.

Instead, what I get on a weekly basis is emails that insist I come for a test drive - or that they will bring the car to me. Really? That clearly is not a reasonable response. I want to know what your best price is before I commit my time and energy.

If I did a test drive and "hard sales pitch" for every vehicle I have been researching, I'd have to take two weeks off!

In this day of internet and social media, there is no excuse why dealerships (who represent their flagship, Tier 1 companies) cannot negotiate and provide reasonable quotes ONLINE, THROUGH EMAIL.

The bottom line ends up being that I will buy from a company that provide online quotes and doesn't waste my time on 50 year old sales tactics. I'm not a newcomer, I'm not a millennial, and there are times I truly hate technology. This is not one of those times.

If either of the companies are reading this in a timely manner, you will likely recognize me from this review and my emails. Please take note and understand that technology has been designed to help consumers, not just be a tool for social media addicts.

This credit card is issued by Meridian Credit Union in Ontario, Canada. It is attached to the Choice Rewards program ( www.choicerewards.ca).

My two main complaints about this credit card are as follows:
1. The security department works very limited hours. If there is ever a security violation that you need to call about in order to re-activate your card, make sure it only happens between 10am and 9pm EST. I was in downtown Ottawa, trying to pay for automated parking at 7am in order to go to work, and I was informed that I needed to talk to security before being able to use my card. 10am? Really? Sorry, that's ridiculous.

2. The online site. To be fair, they have made some changes recently. However, my biggest issue was how the statement I received in the mail had little similarity to the online site... payment information and available credit information didn't match up. Things look more clear now... but it took this long to figure this out?!?! For a credit card?!?

Tip for consumers:
Move on to one of the "big banks" in Canada and get a credit card with better and longer support.
