Scotts of Imlay City, MI is a company worth being aware of. I went through a temp service. The service had a front end loader position available. The post through the temp service said $17 per hour. I submitted my application. Temp service did a background check and drug screen. After all said and done, the temp service said Scotts reneged on the $17 per hr. And said they'd pay $15 per hr. I was P. O. I then found another recruiting company for Scotts on CL. The pay for same position was $14.05 per hr. I did Scotts 10.5 hour video and quizzes on Monday. What a headache. Tuesday I was hands on in the loader. The job was not just a front end loader, it was much more. It was also hectic for the low pay offered. Scotts has for employees, half temps, half permanent.
If you need a job and don't mind the low pay for such a huge company, go for it. Scotts is world wide and makes a ton of money. It is dirty, shifts are odd with 2 available. 10.5 hours for 4 days a work week. 5,6 when needed or in busy season.
Problem I have is that Scotts was paying the $17 per hr. Then decided not to pay that amount. It was in writing. To me that is a contract, especially when they told the temp agency an amount that was agreed on. The temp recruiter was very upset. It wasn't the agencies fault. Shysters everywhere. BEWARE!
