Saw a used car for sale Findlay Toyota in Henderson, Nevada. A $44,000 car. Made appointment. Now I am senior citizen bought many cars consider myself savvy but not prepared for this... lol let me say up front I bought the car, Wife and I treated good, got a decent price and they fulfilled obligation with some persistence on my part... but could have been better...
The review is too caution all buyers to make sure and slow down, review everything because in Nevada there is no lemon law. When you sign you are stuck. Five minutes later you can do nothing.
Findlay Toyota on this Saturday must have 25 salesmen. Lobby has maybe 25 sales tables for customers. In the showroom lobby is also auto parts counter, service counter, large waiting room, TV, and misc other service counters. Quite a busy place lots of activity, distractions.
We met our salesman he was getting car ready for test drive. He started asking questions filling out forms. A credit application. WTF! Hold on have not even seen car. He said it would go faster if we buy, and I said a waste of time if we don't... so slow down... we wanted the car after test drive. As we negotiated he presented me with proposal. I wanted $800 more for my trade in. He took proposal and said ok we can trade for this amount deducting $800 from proposal. I said yes. Now in Nevada the 8.5 sales tax is always added in to the sales price for the state. I knew that but never thought about it. So we signed purchase papers maybe almost 3 hours after arriving we completed the purchase left with our new car. Only later did I realize that it was honest but creative book keeping... they reached agreed sales price each but actually got there by NOT giving me the trade in I agreed on but by when reducing the sales amount of car it reduced tax due so the additional $200 I would have received from less tax actually went to them as they included that to reach the sales price I agreed too... sneaky but my fault for not slowing down reading everything and considering the taxes... they also fulfilled promise of car accessory promised... it took threats, e mails, calls but a month later they fulfilled
So watch them like a hawk... slow down... read everything... be prepared to spend 3 or 4 hours

• Updated review

I previously wrote a great review for Odyssey Landscaping in Mesquite, Nevada. That was two years ago. I must update.
Odyessy has become totally unreliable. I contacted them last year and after several attempts finally got a response in regards to a minor job. I was told they had big contracts and did not have time for smaller residential landscaping work. WTF. Tried to speak to workers I saw in the area but they spoke NO English, think they were still dusty from walking thru Sonoran desert.
But I thought maybe a bad time with the covid. So I called this year, no response. I e mailed three times no response. The office has moved gone somewhere. Know they are still in business as I see their trucks and workers. They still have contract with my sub division for landscaping work.
AVOID... they do not have time or call ncern for small residential jobs, plenty of other companies

Never a bad experience ( Mesquite Nevada Odyssey)

I have been a snow bird the past 5 years. Odyssey Landscaping is the company used by my HOA so I use them for any needs not covered by HOA. They have always been great. Send someone always to handle or look at problem. I have used them for palm tree trimming, back yard clean up, tree removal, and replacement of drip line front and back yard. Terry in the office has always responded to e mails in a timely manner. A couple of times it took them a little time to complete project but I never had to call or contact more than once. They just get busy.

I assume their pricing is right along with everyone's because I have never got a competing bid. So I will not comment on pricing other than it always seemed reasonable to me

  • Plexaderm

9/3/19

My sister wanted to try Plexaderm for an upcoming wedding. I had also used before. We are both senior citizens and wanted to use because of bags under the eyes. I found going to their web site that the best deal was buying two and getting third free because it is very expensive for a small bottle. The cost was $119.00, free shipping.
I had used before so a few years back so I knew what to expect. They have improved the bottle an it takes for me just a small dab under each eye. You can feel the product tightening on your face. Sort of like lemon juice or something you feel tightening as it dries. Plexaderm works but is very expensive to me. It is tops a 20 to 30 day supply for $60 dollars and that is when using a very very small amount. I use only on special occasions when I will be around a lot of people. So if you use it daily be prepared to spend $100 a month roughly. It lasts after applying only a few hours until you wash your face. It does work for me at least.
I gave the rating because personally I think they charge too much for it for the amount they gicve and time it would last... but advertisement is honest and it works

  • AT&T

As you search for cable providers AVOID A T &T U Verse. They also own Direct TV. They lie also. Had U Verse many years but the last few years they do nothing but lie. Have over seas phone rooms so when calling never get same agent. They will tell you anything, promise a rate or promo but it never happens. When you call back of course different agent. They will say they have no record of what was promised... they are terrible... they also will give a price but of course that is for Direct TV then transfer you... also lie and make you commit to 2 year contract.
When cancelling, they will tell you about billing cycle. So even when service is stopped they charge you remainder of billing cycle. Total cheats.
When you return equipment at UPS store make sure you keep receipt as they will try and tell you weeks later they never got it. Tried that scam on me but but never apologised for trying to extort me out of 100 bucks.
They are terrible

  • Zenni Optical

6/11/18

I ordered my glasses on line. Was not sure what to expect. So many other companies have phony TV ads where they quote 2 pair for $69 dollars so I took a chance as glasses at these phony TV ads generally run about $300 or more for glasses
So ordered from Zenni. Giving my prescription on line after visiting a Walmart eye doctor to have eyes checked and get Rx for glasses. Within a short delivery time my glasses arrived. They were and are great. For a price of around $90 dollars I got a very good quality, stylish prescription pair of glasses. I am going back again to get a couple more pairs when eyes are checked again for new prescription in the future. Zenni will be my place for glasses from here on out

Navtec Expedtions advertises on Trip advisor. They have a web page but have to access it thru Trip Advisor
It was September and I am still mad. Book an off road trip with Navtec for $182. Paid for with credit card. This was 6 weeks in advance. Called 4 days before scheduled off road trip as directed to verify. It was verified. Got to Moab, Utah. As we were looking around our first day saw the guide company so stopped in the see if we needed water or anything for the 6 AM trip...
A bearded guy who said he was manager said no and asked my name to look up paid for expedition. It was then he stated you know it is 4 person minimum so I can't take you and wife unless to pay something like $100 more. I said WTF! Nobody told me that... his response "not his problem". I asked to speak to someone else and he said he was "the man" and there was nothing he could do. Well he got loud and I got louder. He refused refund stated I booked on line so it is "not his problem" to give refund I would have to go on line.
I have never dealt with anyone so rude. I did get my refund but I will tell you.
AVOID NAVTEC.
There are many guides in Moab, Utah and I suggest do NOT book in advance wait and book when you are there. Lot of good, honest guides but NAVTEC is NOT one of them

  • Humana Pharmacy

3/4/18

I have Humana home Pharmacy Delivery. Have 3 prescriptions. They sent notice to re new high blood pressure Rx So I clicked OK before changing delivery address as we would be at vacation home during winter. This was Jan 20th. So I called immediately. They said not a problem to send to address in Nevada. They lied.
As I was running out I called again Feb 10th. They sent to wrong address so needing the Rx I asked if they could send me a 30 day supply. After waiting on line 20 minutes lady came back and said No problem. It will arrive in about 5 days
THEY LIED
Now out of my Rx and no new refill I called again. Asked if they would just OK a refill at Wal Mart and I would get it. NO was the response After 20 minutes and talking to two people they agreed to the 30 day supply and apologized for the screw up. Stated they would over night it at no cost to me because it was their error.
THEYT LIED a 3rd time
Got a tracking number and it was sent regular mail. So now 4 days without high blood pressure medicine, they lied, lied, lied and also refused to OK a Rx for me to pick up...
So what ever you do DO NOT get Humana Pharmacy or home delivery. They just don't care. They put my health and life at risk because they are liars or incompetent.
Once I get this Rx I will refuse to use Humana home Pharmacy again and at end of year look for another RX plan that does not use over seas phone banks, liars or morons to help

  • BradfordExchange

7/31/17

I wrote a scathing review of Bradford Exchange. I had problems with them because I ordered a ring and paid by check. They could not deliver the product within a 7 week period so I told them not to cash my check and they assured me they would not and the check for $200 would be returned. They lied the check was cashed. I was very pissed. Phones calls did nothing as they have an over seas phone room and I think they use English as an excuse to ignore your requests or just flat out lie. Notice how all state "this call may be recorded for customer satisfaction and review ". Well state that same thing when you call and they will tell you they can't talk to you if you are recording or most companies just disconnect.
So I began e mailing. Got responses and was able to get a full refund on the cancelled order... so my advice is this. If you order from them... pay with credit card... before ordering and paying get a firm date on delivery... and last I would do everything by e mail so you can have a record of order and exchange of information. Telephone calls will get you a non English speaking person that has little authority is only an order taker.
So in retrospect I have to give them a little better review. I did get my money back. So if you order, be persistent, use credit card and e mail.
