I was looking for an affordable big data solution to easily track usage and provide analytics for the hundreds of app asset files stored in our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Simple Storage Service (S3) buckets used for Hosting and as a Content Delivery Network and fortunately came across S3stat.com.

TL; DR Review Details:
Overall: 5.0 out of 5.0
Ease of Use: 5 out of 5
Customer Support: 5 out of 5
Features and Functionality: 5 out of 5
Value for Money: 5 out of 5
Likelihood to Recommend: 10 out of 10

S3stat.com offers a simple and secure setup through their S3stat Secure Setup tool or Web Setup for easily tracking usage of these hundreds of app files while providing a large array of analytics in easily to read reports to better understand your data along with identifying performance and cost bottlenecks using their intuitive dashboard for all of your files over a custom date window down to daily granularity for an individual file with everything in between.

The S3stat.com dashboard offers a variety of views including: Overview, Files, Referers, Visitors / IPs, Locations, Browsers, Status Codes, Error Pages, and Methods. In each of these views it is intuitive and straightforward to drill-down into the data to quickly understand the analytics for each of these metrics with just a few clicks.

In Overview the top ten files are displayed in a table with the filename, Hits, KB and Cost which are further broken out into three charts for Hourly Traffic, Daily Traffic, and Traffic Sources along with Total Traffic and Daily Average for Daily Unique Visitors, Files, and Referrers with the ability to easily drill-down into each of these metrics to analyze, share and export these data.

Similarly, the other eight dashboard views offer a multitude of analytics to not only better understand your customers and their needs, but to also drill-down into the data to easily identify performance and cost bottlenecks arising from your AWS S3 storage stack.

All in all S3stat.com will give you the tools you need to better manage all your AWS S3 buckets and CloudFront distributions to optimize storage performance, minimize storage costs to lower the total cost of ownership, and maximize your return on investment while deepening app engagement while driving app retention which are all made possible through these insights and improvements.

In the end, I really cannot think of a tool that does a better job complimenting AWS S3 and CloudFront so lots of kudos go out to Jason Kester and the S3stat.com team in all that they do in making the world more productive through the use of their excellent app to say nothing of their responsive and excellent customer service so start your 30 day free trial today and find out all of this and more for yourself.
