I had a horrible set of experiences. One's first red flag is that the owner claims to be WICCAN but oddly can not even spell "Magick" correctly, the way Wiccans and most witches spell it. That being with a 'K' on the end. They claim to get rid of Lurkers instantly if reported but I discovered they have created a series of fake profiles to harass new people that join; asking if they can cast loves spells for them. One profile seems to have been there for a few years. A minor from India asking for a love spell for a girl. When I asked who the girl was, he gave me the name. Googling it, I discovered it was some hot female Bollywood actress.
Going into the group itself, I found a lot of spells, lists and information stolen not just from various web sites but also from famed wiccan and pagan author's books. I did post a few spells to my profile page. Then, searching through groups multitude list of spells I found many of the spells posted belong in Roleplaying books; Vampire, Werewolf & Mermaid spells, Dungeons & Dragons. Spells dealing with Pokémon and Airbender cartoons and online role playing games or even from movies like Harry Potter and such. This disturbed me in that this site and its owners is allowing kids to post claims like "This spell is guaranteed to make you fly." GREAT! All we need to heard is that some kid leapt off a building and died or stab himself thinking he was immortal or a vampire. I sent a message of concern to a couple of the moderators saying I was worried some kids are going to try these spells and get seriously hurt, or worse. At first I got no response. Then I tried again to a couple of other moderators. But instead of getting back to me, they "Gagged" me. Meaning they made it so I could not post or anything on the site. I could not even delete my own profile. When I complained further to the site owner, I was bumped off the site. Angry, I posted a warning to other REAL Witch and Wiccan friends about the site on a blog page and the members of the blog who saw it said they were shocked and said things like "They are not real witches. Or they said that they heard of Spellsofmagic.com and are not shocked. So I just rubbed it off and moved on. But I did find it funny that while they wipe out your profile, the spells you post they keep, claiming the spells are now theirs. Okay, totally childish on their part. Either way I moved on and I was done with Spellsofmagic.com... I THOUGHT.
The next day when I woke, I got set of threatening emails from the owner falsely accusing me of using the site to post porn and stuff to a minor and they planned to take me to court unless I retracted what I said on the blog. I did some deep investigating and found the site belonged to a lawyer/mayor in Canada who owns several sites on line, including a GAY cowboy group. Hmmmm. Makes you wonder.
I also discovered that Spellsofmagic claims to have a 100% success rating as a site. This claim makes sense if they scare everyone with a negative comment about them with false threats of pornography. I have heard from many others that they get bumped from the site and the site never even tells you why. As a company they fail.
So there you go. A site that's is doing more harm to true witches of the world than good. For all the fighting that pagans and witches have done for decades, spellsofmagic.com is destroying. Spellsofmagic.com is a destructive and demeaning site to anyone that is of a pagan faith or practices real magick. They take no blame if someone gets hurt from the content posted BUT claim all content posted belongs to the site and its owner.
