  • Pinecone Research

11/27/15

I was hesitant joining, as I have encountered many scam sites. I really have to give them "props"! I wish every survey company would take a few notes of how PineConeResearch operates HONESTLY. Here is my review:

PineConeResearch is a real research company for Top Brand products. There are no videos to watch, sites to click on or offers to complete.

Simply, complete your profile and if you are a match for a prospective survey, you will be asked to participate.

Surveys pay minimum of $3/300 points, are fairly quick usually under 10 minutes? Minimum Paypal is $5 and paid within 24 hours on a week day. I am not sure if Paypal is available automatically? I know I was asked to accept a check initially, then was approved for Paypal.

Surveys: a few a week depending on your demographics
Participation is voluntary. You can opt in for daily/weekly depending on your availability. You can also opt for "Vacation Time" wherein you will not be sought to participate.

Although participation is voluntary, if you are not active, you do run a risk of being "booted". Understand please: they are serious about data collection, as they should be. If you cannot give honest accurate data, there is no use for you to occupy their space.

If you get booted from a survey via internet connection. Log back in and pick up where you left off! I like this- its better than starting over or not being able to complete as some other sites are.

Testing Products: 50/50 the survey you will take could include testing a product. My 1 quirk: I never know when I am going to receive something, because every survey will always ask whether or not you are willing to try. I am always willing to try anything once.
I have yet to be disappointed. I usually receive a Test Product every month, based on a survey I took. Wide variety of full size products, pets, family, household, etc.

Confidentiality: I respect this and aside from my immediate family, I do not share information or products.

Customer Support: They are always helpful to answer any questions. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Turn around has been so quick or at the very latest within 24 hours.

Computer or Mobile: I haven't had an issue taking a survey on either. They don't care where you log in from (work, school, airport :) as long as you can honestly complete the survey.

Tip for consumers:
My best advice: Be helpful, honest and get paid, pretty simple. Fake it and you will be booted/not asked to participate.

If I were a company looking for data about my products or prospective ones, I would hire PineConeResearch to give me the best possible data.

  • WOW! Internet

11/27/15

Wow will no doubt be bought up by another company (just like T-Mobile by/MetroPCS) I guess a year maybe 2 tops?

10 years ago, switched to WOW because they were the best, compared to Comcast. During their 10 years they haven't updated anything. They don't even care anymore, as evident in typos for their descriptions of shows. How sad a company cannot run spell check?

Their Internet service is inconsistent, it goes down every day. Really wow? www.google.com doesn't exist? Lol Yahoo as your browser tells me 2 dying companies are trying to stay afloat. They were hacked in July, just more proof of how they just don't care anymore.

Cable service is very primitive. Charges are outrageous for what they are offering. Crap cable and intermittent internet cost us 178 a month NO PAY CHANNELS either (honest)

You SHOULD be aware: Wow snoops on you so they can get advertisers to pay for ads.

Smart $#*! customer service reps, reminds me of how Comcast use to be.

The minute Comcast left my home, I called to get rid of WOW. They offered a big discount, I declined, I don't even want it if it was free. Took their boxes back the next morning.

Comcast X1, bells and whistles, cost less and worth so much more to us.

RIP WOW your time has passed.

  • MyPoints

11/1/15

MyPoints is one of those sites that started off great years ago, then lost its way and is useless for a member. I became a member of MyPoints via my sister (yes 9 years ago) and when MyPoints first started it was great. Points for purchases, reading emails, surveys, etc.

However, as the years went by The Bad and Ugly came

Points for purchases are not added or such a hassle with faxing/emailing I never bought anything through them again.

Points for purchases are BETTER at OTHER websites.

Emails dropped from 10 to 5 points (less than a penny). Use to be a couple everyday, now only a few a week.

Surveys offered are better attempted/taken at another website.

Rewards went up to almost double

Various Gift Cards Available minimum is $10 and need about 1650-1750 points depending on which is selected.

MyPoints recently added unlimited videos via pc/tablet, limited to 10 via mobile device. However, they are having a hard time crediting and keeping up with that.

MyPoints started Swappable an app to buy a "discounted" gift card and receive points for doing so. EPIC FAIL buy a $50 card get $1 "cash back" and then pay $1 shipping and handling lol where is the "discount"? I can get a real discount at Monster, Cardpool or Gyft

Customer Service? There isn't any.

The Good:

Redeeming for an EGift Card is super quick (like instant)

Bottom Line: I am not bashing MyPoints, just keeping it real, NOT WORTH IT

Here are 2 screenshots of emails I received from MyPoints (2014 and 2015), Last year, in their defense after posted about "less than a penny for 8 years" I received some points which equated to about $5.

9 years and finally done. I've only stayed because of my GSN account. MyPoints gets a kickback and I get points while playing at GSN. I hope to transfer my account. If not, I will have to give that up too.

Update 11/27: I cannot switch my GSN. I have to make ANOTHER account@GSN, yes its "against their rules" However, if I no long have any ties to a company that company should not reap a forever benefit, especially MyPoints:)

Other Reviews: There is NO ONE who will speak to you via telephone. Terrible English comprehension in email (or they just play stupid? Idk smh)

I predict MyPoints will be a ghost on the web in about 2 years ( I will be back to update:)

Update 2/13/16: MyPoints video watching has been reduced to 10 per day from their "unlimited viewing". This site is on life support and I still cannot wait until they fully shut down.

Tip for consumers:
Don't make purchases thru MyPoints
Don't bother with their 5 cent Surveys

  • Swagbucks

9/24/15

I have been a member of Swagbucks for a few years now, here is the good, bad and ugly:

The Good:

Swagbucks is legit and honestly pay its members. Members can be redeem for Paypal or a variety of different gift cards ranging from Amazon, CVS, Walmart, etc. Members can also choose to donate their swagbucks to a variety of charties.

Customer Service responds to complaints, questions, normally within 24 hours on a weekday, weekends may take a little longer. My account issues have always been addressed to satisfaction. Sometimes, as a courtesy, swagbucks are given.

1 Swagbuck is equal to 1 penny. Swagbucks offers its members a variety of ways to earn Swagbucks by: Watching Videos, Taking Surveys and Completing Offers.

The Bad:

Swagbucks new web design, really sucks. For a company making millions, I am very surprised at how terrible their new design is. Honestly, I haven't spent as much time as I normally would, because of their new design. Perhaps, this is intentional? To retain stats for how long a user visits and cuts down on their "Bounce Rate"? Whatever their reasoning is, I really hope they apply some of their millions into a user friendly site.

Timing of Redemption can take as long as 10 business days (not including holidays/weekends) and sometimes as short as 24 hours. This inconsistency makes me feel uneasy, as I like things scheduled and followed.

Their App, lags in notifying of when SwagCodes are available. Constant ads or "please rotate your device" while playing videos is a hassle.

Swagbutton data mining I don't like being tracked when I am not on a website. I find that button lags my brower now I only enable it when there is a code, otherwise, its off.

Surveys, I don't bother with anymore, I have a big problem with how they go about their "surveys". Because after grabbing your information you receive a message about "not qualifying" or "over quota" and will receive 1 penny/Swagbuck for your time.

Secondly, their surveys are not worth the time, 50/75 cents, no thanks I can take the same survey elsewhere for $3.

The Ugly:
I honestly can't say anything ugly about Swagbucks. Because Swagbucks is LEGIT and DOES pay there is a LOT of ABUSE and Swagbucks does close accounts for violating there TOS. Having multiple accounts or lying about your location will lead to your account being closed.

The complaints I have seen most likely are those who tried to commit fraud, multiple accounts, lying, using bot software, etc. Swagbucks is legit and unlike other websites, it has intentions of being around for a long time. With that comes higher scrutiny of accounts.

Play fair, watch videos, check out the offers, use the mobile apps and you can earn a few dollars a day. Try to scam them and you will have your account closed in no time:)

Happy Swaggin!

Updated 11/1 in response to Allen F and others posting INCORRECT information (Credible reviews are honest and not biased)

You do NOT have to be a member to view TOS from Swagbucks Homepage. The Homepage/Log-In page provides plenty of links of information available to ALL to read.

Racking up swagbucks/points doesn't cause an alarm. But will get you noticed to determine if you are legitimately completing offers. Some days, I rack up over 1000 swagbucks ($10) other days maybe 100 ($1).

Swagbucks is NOT responsible for offers YOU request. Too many people try to scam offers by entering different email addresses for offers to credit. Then are disappointed when that doesn't work. If you have honestly for the first time completed an offer and there is a crediting problem, send proof or an email to Customer Service and any problems can be resolved.

I understand, most people are use to fly by night scam sites that just want to steal your information or have excuses for not crediting/ban you (yes, I have been a victim of them too), But, that is NOT Swagbucks!

Swagbucks is a REAL multi-million dollar company. Not some guy or gal behind a website scamming its members!

Update 12/14 Scammer tried to scam and got banned (read the one with 95.00 over a 10 day period) The only way I can see anyone making 95.00 in 10 days is by scamming/falsifying information on offers. It's obvious to me you were scamming and got banned.

Other "review" really? Your "review" is about the SwagGuy? Your review doesn't even make sense. You do NOT get banned for cashing out ~ You get BANNED FOR SCAMMING! Accounts get deactivated if not used for a long time, so I do NOT believe your review at all.

Update 2/13

Swagbucks has announced on 2/16 they are lowering their points for watching SwagTv, to 10 cents. I advise anyone to just uninstall the app. It simply is not worth the time, effort, nor data usage on your phone/tablet.

I do not know if Swagbucks, is shutting down or just increasingly taking advantage of their members with the recent changes over the last 8 months.

There are fewer earning opportunities now. The Videos at their website are not worth watching 10 minutes for 1 penny is honestly not worth it to me, YMMV

The surveys, as you can see from my review above, are not worth anyone's time. Because of 2 reasons, very low pay and HIGHLY UNLIKELY you will be given credit for the time you have put in. I consider this an information grab if nothing else.

I do not recommend buyin any of their Gift Cards, because you can find them cheaper at Cardpool.com or MonsterGiftCard.com <-----saving you money off the bat without the hassle of Swagbucks.

There are still some good opportunities to earn SB from some offers though.

Overall, I believe Swagbucks is dying or at least on the way out like MyPoints did.

  • Viggle

9/22/15

Given the tons of complaints in the PlayStore and on Viggle Facebook, I am very surprised I am the first to review Viggle here at SiteJabber, nonetheless here goes my review:

I stumbled on Viggle via an email I received from Bing. I trust Bing and thought the Viggle app would be great to get giftcards and/gifts for my family. I saw their selection of rewards and was pretty excited to start Viggling!

The app looks good and a user can get points by watching tv-shows, listening to music, and participating in Football or other trivia games.

The FRAUD: there is NOTHING anymore as far as rewards, except Viggle and Twizzler T-shirts or digital movies, music and books.

When a company has to add FAKE 5 star Reviews in the PlayStore, it's time to shut it down.

The promise of Giftcards is an utter joke. In the few months I have used this app, I haven't seen a giftcard. According to some posts on FB, a mysterious giftcard may appear around 7,8 and 9 and are gone in seconds. I find those posts hard to believe. Not to mention, I find it pretty sad a company issues 1 giftcard? To its millions of users?

Their "customer support" does not exist except for "Robo Responses" that never deal with the question except to say "your message will be forwarded on".

According to all the complaints I have seen online, Viggle has at least a 3 year history of scamming and conning its viewers. In addition, a 2.7 rating by their own employees at GD.

Had I seen a review at SiteJabber, I would of steered away and not wasted a few months of time on a worthless app such as Viggle.

I look forward to seeing more reviews here from others.

  • Points2Shop

7/21/15

Update 2/13/16 They should be arrested!

Update: 11/18/2015 SiteJabber NEEDS to REMOVE the FAKE paid reviews by P2S

Helping others avoid being scammed and hacked by Points2Shop.

Any review that boasts about P2S is a paid for review. You can verify this by looking at the P2S forum for this. Post a good review and get a nickel.

Their "staff" pretends to be average users and have various websites and youtube videos posting great reviews.

P2S is nothing more than a Scam. They gather your information for Identity Theft at a later date. Lastly, P2S will install scripts on your computer without your permission in order to track everything.

At first, yes it looks legit. They will pay you small amounts to let you think they are legit. Once they have all your information you will soon have "issues" with your account.

The Owners came to America a few years ago and opened up shop in Georgia and have been involved in various scams with other sites.

Anyways, if your looking to waste your time and give up your identity for 5 dollars that's your choice, just don't say I didn't warn you.
