I have never had a bad experience with macy's. Shopping with them both online and in physical stores has always been positive. They can be a little expensive, but they sell good stuff and they frequently have some amazing sales!

Several years ago I would have given them five stars, but lately they have employed waaaay too many third party sellers, many of whom are selling fake products. I bought a shirt that said it was sold by amazon, not third party, but it was clearly a forgery. The image provided on the website showed the picture on the shirt taking up most of the shirt, but the shirt I got had a picture about the size of a standard sheet of notebook paper, AND it was badly smeared! I also bought some makeup from a brand I usually buy at the mall, and it was crumbly and hard, and it smelled weird. What's frustrating is that even after contacting Amazon about these scammers, Amazon continues to let them sell their bogus products!

I like what Kohl's sells and they have pretty decent prices, but they have one of the worst credit card policies known to man. They convinced me to get their card, and I bought a few things using it and paid it off immediately (that same day.) One of the items I bought didn't work out, so I went back to the store a few days later to return it. I was expecting a fast, easy return because, after all, that was one of the main selling points in applying for the credit card in the first place. Unfortunately, after speaking with multiple employees and a manager, I wasn't able to get a refund. About a week later after FINALLY being able to speak with some fancy-pants big shot on the phone (this is after speaking to at least a dozen lower level employees who knew nothing and kept telling me the same thing over and over), I found out they do not give in-store refunds for credit card purchases that have already been paid off. So I had to write a letter, wait more than three weeks for them to process my request, then wait another three weeks to get a check with my refund. Biggest hassle ever. They actually punish customers who pay off their credit card quickly! And why is it that none of the store managers even knew their own return policy?

I will never understand why everyone rioted when they came out with their fair and square, no coupon pricing. One of their basic tees was "fair and square" priced at $6, but everyone insisted on having it priced at $10.99 and then waiting for it to go on sale for $6, instead of just having it cost $6 every day of the year. Silly, silly shoppers.

As a seller: I paid a whopping $10 to send my stuff, and they only paid me $8- And that's with a high end skirt new with tags! They gave me pennies for the rest, but not enough to even cover the shipping and handling fees. So I LOST money by selling to them! Financially, I would have been better off donating to a charity!

As a buyer: While I was waiting the three months for them to process what I sold, I did some shopping. Big mistake! It was described as like new, but it smelled like dirty gym socks that have been buried in a sweaty locker all season. It was also covered in pet fur (thank goodness I'm not allergic) and had crumbs inside one of the sleeves. Disgusting! If they are going to sell something for $20 when they only paid 50 cents for it, you'd think they'd at least have the decency to shake the crumbs and fur off before shipping!

TERRIBLE customer servce. HUGE rip off!
