"The top ten of everything. Created by everyone." How it works is you create a top ten list about whatever you want. Then people can choose to remix your top ten, and you can remix other top tens as well. You can move stuff around, delete what you don't like, add your own description, change the image, enter a new title and tell why you chose it, and when finished you can view the "new" top ten. You can look at all the contributions to a particular top ten list also. All this moving around, deleting, editing, etc by all these users creates what this website is all about... A Global Top Ten! Get it? Good idea huh. You can also look at the popular top tens, and send in feedback and ideas.

Another website where the name says it all. Although the name is "Top Tips for Girls", I think it should be more like "Top Tips for Women", or "Top tips for Girls and Women". Lol. Something of that nature. I feel like I'm 13 all over again simply because I use this website frequently to look for tips in several categories. The tips are created by the sites users, and the many categories include but are not limited to Hair, Beauty, Relationships, Health, Style, Home, Cooking, Money, and a few more. Also included as a category is SEX, which is why I think the site should be catered more towards women! Ok, enough of that. Users are also able to, and encouraged to rate the tips on the site. There is also a section where you can ask questions for other users to answer. It's a nice little site for tips and to make a few friends. I have noticed people using it who are 13 up to 30. I'm 28, so I guess I'm in the clear for now lol.

  • Tjetter

This site is effing dumb. First of all, all it has is a main page with virtually nothing on it except their logo and one sentence below it that says "You can only use the site if you have at least 100 facebook friends." Then it says this AGAIN in the small paragraph below it that says "You can chat for free with nice people. You have to have at least 100 facebook friends though." Now can someone tell me what the point of that is? Because tjetter doesn't even explain WHY this is. Sorry, but I'm not the type of person to "Friend" people on facebook that I don't even freaking know. I know a lot of people do this because all they care about is having the most friends on facebook, but I am not one of them. So, because of this, I guess I can't use tjetter. Which by the way is a singles/chatting/icebreakers site that requires you to have a photo and the photo slowly comes into view little by little while you're chatting with the person the site chooses for you. I'm assuming it; s like cyber speed dating? I don't know. And why don't I know, you ask? Because I'm not popular enough to be allowed to use the site. LOL. Ridiculous.

  • Tillys

I like Tillys because they have some awesome jewelry... and lots of it! They also have a huge variety of different styles of clothes for women, men, boys, and girls. Great prices as well. I have ordered off here a couple times with no problems. I like to check out the sale items. They also have a live help section and a blog.

This site seems okay. It; s a simulated fishing website. You wait until a fish gets near you and your boat, then click the mouse as fast as you can to reel it in. It collects the fish and tells you what kind of fish you caught, it's weight, etc. You also have the option to create your own species of fish, where you can scroll through a list of fish with descriptions for each one, and customize it with length, fins, and color, and then name your fish. Then you can feed it if you want. The website is obviously supposed to be educational as well, but its pretty fun to play here and there.

"Clothes don't grow, Kids do", as the site says. This is another trading website, except this one isn't for books or music, it's for clothes. Kids clothes to be exact. It seems simple enough. Find clothes you want and list your own - when someone chooses your box of clothes, a trade is made. The only downside though is that there is a flat rate of $10.95 shipping - which seems a bit much for a small box of clothes. And that's another thing: All boxes of clothes have to be listed for $5. No more, no less. I haven't made any transactions on here yet so I am only reviewing the idea, basically. Seems like a good deal to me, though.

  • This Day in Music

8/14/11

The name of the site says it all. Wanna know what happened today (or tomorrow, or whatever day you go on) in music? Wanna know what famous musicians and band members, singers, etc were born on this day? Head on over to this site and you will see a list of interesting music-related things that happened on that particular day, plus birthdays for music related people.

For instance, on the day I am writing this review, some of the things that happened according to the site are 1993, Freddie Mercury had his first solo UK No. 1 single with 'Living On My Own'.; 2001, A pizza-stained piece of paper signed by three of the four Beatles sold for $48,000 (£17,441) to an anonymous collector at an auction in Melbourne; and 2008, Lita Roza died in Liverpool, England. Had the 1953 No. 1 hit with her version on the of Patti Page hit 'How Much Is That Doggie In The Window. (I shortened these for review writing purposes - each one has more info).

Also, some birthdays for today (Aug 14) are Sarah Brightman, Slim Dunlap, and Maddy Prior.

Interesting site to check out if you're bored.

Crafts, kits, and Curios for the creatively inclined. I like odd shops like this. I have yet to order anything from this website because the items are a bit on the expensive side, but some of the items I like are the potato chip necklace (told you it was an odd shop), crayon rings, and pretty much anything in the sites "Library" section. Cute little shoppe with cute little odds and ends.

  • Amazon Mechanical Turk

I have been using this site for about 8 months now. As the previous reviewer said, the HITs pay from $. 01 to $20.00 and up. Generally, the harder the task, the more money you will be paid (obviously) and the more qualified you have to be. For the HIT's that require qualification, you need to take the given test and pass it to be able to qualify. Basically, the more time you spend on here the more money you will make. One can make a good amount of money on here. Certainly not a sole income but definitely some spending money or some money to put away in savings or something. I've been paid for taking quizzes, surveys, transcribing audio, editing written assignments, and some other odd jobs. It can be fun too!

Wtf? They don't even have the kind of cigarettes I smoke. You know, REGULAR Marlboro Menthols... why wouldn't they carry something so common? Ah well, whatever.

  • Synonym-finder

8/13/11

Your writing can be boring if you keep repeating the same words. This is where synonym-finder comes in. All you do is type in the original word you were planning to use, and the site will come up with a list of synonyms for that word that are just, well... better! Perfect for writing stories, poems, etc. Really like this website. It's simple but definitely something I can and have used.

  • Spent

8/13/11

PlaySpent.org is an interesting game type thing where you have to get through the month on $1000, you just lost your job, your savings are gone, you lost your house, and you're a single parent. You have to first find a job. If you pick temp, you have to take a short typing test to be sure you can type over 55wpm, You can opt in or out for health insurance, choose how far from home you want your job to be (closer to your job means more for rent, farther away from your job means more for gas). Also you will have to go grocery shopping, where to choose items that are shown, and the amount of that item you want (like real grocery shopping), and add what you want to your cart (and no, you can't just buy all ramen noddles - they limit you to three of each item). This will also affect your overall balance, so choose wisely. You will also have to make more decisions, such as whether you want to keep your pet after your landlord found out you have a cat, and the fee is $150, whether to pay for storage or ask a friend to store your items, whether you want to fly out to your grandfather's memorial service who has just passed away for $350, and more. After each decision you make, the game tells you what happens as a result of your choices in real life, and what other people have to deal with and go through as a result. If you run out of money before the game is up, you lose. If you are able to effectively save and budget your money, you win. It's definitely an eye opener.

Definitely a great website for prevention of being scammed or opening e mails with viruses, etc. Definitely worth reading daily.

  • phraseup

8/13/11

This is one of those sites that will come in handy when you least expect it. I know I frequently can't think of the word I'm trying to think of when writing, typing, or even saying a sentence... I'll become aggravated... What the hell is the word I'm thinking of? It's right at the tip of my tongue! Well, that's where phraseup.com comes in. You type in your sentence in the search bar, and put an asterisk (*) in place of the word you can't think of. Then hit enter and it will take you to a page with possible words you could be thinking of to complete the sentence. It's pretty on the money most of the time, but sometimes I have to admit, it does come up with some pretty silly words/sentences that make absolutely no sense. Good idea for a website, though, and definitely good to have around as reference/help material.

  • Add-ons for Firefox

8/13/11

This is great! So many different add-ons you can download absolutely free of charge! You can choose to donate money to the add on's creator, though if you want. I browsed through some of the add-ons and couldn't believe how many they have. I already downloaded about ten of them for my browser. The font, color, text add on, the firefox theme add on (now my browser is pink and black. Love it!), the Stumble Upon toolbar which comes in VERY handy and I use it everyday, the Pearltrees toolbar, YourVersion toolbar, and a few more. Firefox is hands down the best browser out there. It makes Internet Explorer look like the scum of the browser earth. One minor thing though is that a lot of the add on's I want to download cannot be downloaded to my version of Firefox (because it is the newest version, I think?). But other than that, love it.

  • SANRIO

This site is freaking adorable! It has been one of my faves for years. I love Hello Kitty and all the other Sanrio characters. Love shopping on this site.

  • Sitekarma

8/12/11

This site sucks. They can't even do a simple thing like e mail you your password. When you initially sign up, you don't make your own password. THEY need to e mail you one. Yet here it is, six days after I signed up and NUMEROUS e mails inquiring about my password, and I still have yet to receive a response. I even clicked the button that says "Resend password". Yet that was useless as well. Will not be using this site. Not that I really can anyway without a PASSWORD.

  • Pogo

8/12/11

I use Club Pogo literally everyday. It's the page I have set up to come up when I first come online. I've been using it for about 5 years or so now, and am completely addicted to it. I'm usually not much of an internet gamer, but Pogo is my go-to for the games I do like to play. They have a lot of word games and I love word games. Scrabble, Boggle, word whomp, tumble bees, and wordsearch are among some of their addicting word games. The only thing that is a "Con" for me is that there are waaaaaaaay too many card games! I'm really NOT into card games at ALL. Also, tokens are pretty much useless now, can't use them for anything except entering to win $25 gift cards or buy mini items (though even those are mostly requiring gems now, which you have to pay REAL money for). I always thought anyone who pays money for a set of clothes, furniture, accessories, a background, etc. that their character can wear on a game site which many people don't even look at the profiles anyway... has too much money and is spending it on ridiculous things. Also, the badges. You have to pay for badges! You're paying for an achievement, again which no one will see or know anyway lol. I don't know. I just think that sort of thing is ridiculous. I'm not trying to embarrass or insult anyone who does pay for mini items or badges, but it's just not my thing. Just my opinion. Besides that, I love pogo. Just don't love spending money on it lol. Even my yearly memberships are bought with my free coke rewards!

  • Idiomdictionary

8/11/11

Really like this website. Pretty self explanatory. Over 5,000 idioms can be found here. There is a search bar so you can type in any idiom you are looking for. Once you find it, it gives you the meaning of the idiom and an example sentence, which, let's face it, most of the time make the words more easy to understand than the actual meaning. I like this site too because you can either do a search or browse the idioms by letter.

  • Strong Street

8/11/11

Haven't used it much yet, but this site seems like a really fun idea. Basically it's a collaborative story writing website where users create bits of story based on the previous bit they just read. Then it passes onto the next person who then adds onto it and so on, until an entire story is written. From what I see, it looks like the bits of story really are just that - bits. I saw several different users listed, each with a sentence or two of their own, then connected onto the next person who writes a sentence or 2 and so on. Anyway, looks like a fun little website but haven't really tried it out yet.
