Now simply "spring.me" this is a site that essentially encourages bullies to harass people with anonymous questions. And even worse, my bully would ask HIMSELF anonymous questions about me to get away with badmouthing me.

They get one star back for being good about banning such activity... but that's pretty much the only use for the site. Otherwise it's like a poor man's poor man's poor man's Twitter.

Amazon itself is usually very reliable, but their "Amazon Payments" in conjunction with Kickstarter is clunky and frustarting. I tried to change my payment for a Kickstarter project and they told me my account was "disable" because they "couldn't verify" my information.

Now I must fax them my driver's license and to make it worse, the reward I wanted was limited and now there are no more. Kickstarter should use something better than Amazon Payments.

A blatant content farm that mostly consists of terrible lists like "42 Ways you Know you went to UC Irvine" designed solely to generate clicks for advertisers.

There is absolutely no original content on this site. It mostly consists of pictures taken from Tumblr which are taken from YouTube videos.

It's sad that so many people like this site.

Examiner.com

A terrible content farm that lets anyone write whatever they want.

Yet people actually use them as a source of news, which is disturbing.

HireArt

For a job application site, this one is not terrible. They will require you to answer several questions via your webcam or smartphone and then the HireArt team will look through it. After a couple of weeks, you'll find out whether they rejected you outright or sent you on to the employer themselves.

The process takes longer than I feel it should. Not terrible but a bit frustrating sometimes.

Also some jobs that label themselves "entry-level" will ask for 2+ years of experience in a specific field... not really "entry-level", is it?

DrudgeReport

The site itself is relatively innocuous. A poorly-designed news aggregation site with an extremely right-wing bias.

But what is really annoying about it is Drudge's hordes of followers that will infiltrate the comments section of any news article that Drudge links them to.

Any time your crazy right-wing uncle sends you another annoying link... check Drudge report. I'll bet you $50 he got it from Drudge.

It's like a poll site where all the other people answering questions are the sort of Republican drones that have Drudgereport.com set as their browser's home page.

Lots of calling everyone else a socialist, veiled racism... but it's still fun to answer polls, even if the other users are idiots.

Like Nuklear but not as good. The game allows everyone to play more than one game at a time which can be good but a bit time-consuming. They also have some IGMs in some of their games, but none of the entirely broken ones that populate most BBSes that have LORD.

Overall it's fun. No Nuklear but playing both is better than playing one.

An amazing site to play Legend of the Red Dragon. It is one of the two sites that have more than 5-10 players... but even so, it's in a decline, sadly. It used to have 450 players total (150 per realm, 3 realms) and now it's just 2 realms and about 110-120 players TOTAL.

Still amazing to get more than 100 people to play a 20+ year old BBS door game.

Very questionable site. I have received several emails identifying me as "Christina" and informing me of "changes" to my credit. I think this is some bottom-feeding scam site hoping to dupe people into buying unneeded services to track their credit scores.

Reddit

There is a lot to do on Reddit. There's pretty much a subreddit for any conceivable topic... ranging from those with thousands of active members to others with less than 100.

My only issue is that I don't feel I really fit in anywhere as much as others that I know on Reddit. I see them with 10,000+ karma, and I've managed just 208 comment karma over the years.

Sporcle

There are many excellent quizzes on Sporcle, and the userbase is very creative in developing various games such as mine puzzles.

Their customer support is excellent. Despite being a completely free website, their email responses have been quicker and more informative than other companies that I was a paying customer for.... Comcast and PG&E.

It's very exciting to see the new quizzes each day.

A lot of the jobs on here are pretty shady, unless you know what to search for and how to detect scams. The dating section is pretty much a joke... it's all about reading hilarious and disturbing entries, not actually dating anyone there.

Lets you do things for free that cost a lot of money on Eharmony and Match. Some of the girls are a bit snobby, but others are really down to earth. Have not had a date from here, but that's my fault, not the site.

Always have been good to me. My mom had a subscription for my grandpa, who stopped watching movies due to his eyesight. They actually gave her a refund for months when he had not been using it at all. A good example of business, streaming only is still a good deal, now that they are adding more content.

A horrible content farm that fraudulently increases its Google Search rankings. Any generic baseball-related search will lead to poorly written articles written by people dumb enough to fall for a content farm.

They should not be read. Ever.

Overall, it's okay. I think you get out what you put in, and some of the things I've supported failed, which kind of sucks. Not sure if I'd trust it with my own ideas though.

USAJobs.gov

Unreliable and full of glitches. Worst of all, the jobs are hard to come by, and if you're not a veteran, you have very little chance of getting employment. Avoid this.

Youthink

A decent site. It can be highly addictive, though it's not nearly as active as it was 5-6 years ago, which kind of sucks. Still, good fun. Would be 5 stars if they'd revert to their old poll-centric format, and dropped the failed attempt at social networking.

Jobvite

Jobvite

I have had no luck getting employment through Jobvites. It's just a way to further distance the prospective employee from prospective employees. Some of the jobs even just change their status to "Not Selected" without reviewing one's qualifications. I guess if you don't "network" well enough, that happens to you.

Scammy.
