My fiance and I were thrilled to get engaged on June 12 2016. We were excited and ready to start the wedding planning! Wasting no time, we started looking for outfits, hair, makeup, venues and of course a photographer. We had found George and Dana through an online search, we reached out to them and they said they would do our wedding photos. We stayed in touch with them for the next few months, gave them a partial deposit of $200 through e-transfer to hold our date. The next week (feb. 03/17) we had a appt to meet at a local coffee shop. George and Dana were late and unprepared for our meeting. Once they finally arrived we sat and looked through their photo albums of wedding and the photobooth and commented on the photo's they have taken, which were nicely done. We decided to go ahead and give them the other $800 for the remainder of the deposit and signed the contract. It was then that they started speaking in their own language, which wasn't English. George then stated that "they have never taken pictures of two women before and didn't know how to." I told him that we are the same as a hetoralsexual couple and take the pictures as if we were man and women. We then wrapped it up and headed back home, unsure of the commitment we had just made. Without trying to put too much thought into the situation, we carried on with our wedding planning hoping that the comment made wasn't going to turn into a big deal. We had emailed back and forth and set up another appt. To meet at the venue, hoping this one would be better than the first. On April 28th my fiance and I went to our venue and waited, to our surprise they were late yet again. We waited in our car, 25 minutes later, we see George frantically walking past our vehicle. It was then i yelled for him, George came over to our car where he started saying that she couldn't think outside the box, but he could. " and other comment's I will not say. His word means more than money", that he was still going to our photo's, regardless of his wife's position. We did not have a formal meeting that day, as he was in a rush to leave. On our way home, we were discussing how uncomfortable we felt now about the entire situation, very unsure of what to do next. After discussing with family and friends about our predicament, everyone was outraged by the un-professionalism of this photographer. We called George to set up a third appt in our city this time, he said he needed GAS MONEY. I told him that it was only fair that he come to us this time, because we did not have a proper meeting for our second appt. He then agreed. As the day approached, we were feeling very uneasy about going forward with this commitment. After careful thought, my fiance and I were certain we did not want to feel uncomfortable in anyway on our special day. Couple's put alot of money and thought into planning a wedding and deserve to get what they pay for. Knowing the way George and Dana felt made us feel uncomfortable as well and didn't want it to reflect in our pictures that we are going to have for a lifetime. The day before the third meeting, we had decided to call George and discuss voiding the contract through both parties. While we were on the phone i told him how uncomfortable we felt with him doing our pictures. He immediately agreed and THANKED ME. He said he didn't know how to take our photo's and offered a full refund that night. Without delay he e-transfered the full amount of the deposit into my account. My fiance and I are completely outraged at the unprofessionalism of these two business owners. We have never felt so discriminated against in the whole time we have been together. We would like to think by the year 2017 that people would be a little more open minded and professional. If George and Dana would have been up front and honest right from the beginning as my fiance and I were with them, we would have just looked for another photographer right away, not wait till 4 months before our wedding. Our intention was not to write a negative review, but we would hate to see anyone be treated without respect and dignity despite your views and opinions. REMEMBER LOVE IS LOVE! Hopefully with writing this review other same sex couples will have a better idea of who and who not to deal with!
