About Me

I definitely tell it like it is. I try to take all sides into consideration. I've worked retail so I know how it is for retail stores as well as being a customer. I know mistakes happen & it's how a business handles the mistake that matters most.

My mom is making something for a cousin's wedding and she order 6.5 yards of patterned fabric from Fabric.com. It is a large chevron pattern so if you are making something based on the position of the fabric, you cannot use scrap pieces. Everything has to be cut out based on the position of the patter. She had ordered from Fabric.com before and never checked the measurements but did on this order and was 8 inches short. Thankfully she had order 10 inches extra for an allowance so she wouldn't have to wait on a replacement but she did contact them and let them know she was missing some expected a refund. They did not even ask her what she wanted and shipped out the remainder of her order plus a little bit, so they claim. She was just notified but based on other reviews, we wont hold our breath.

The issue is, had she needed that portion that was missing, she would have been screwed because there was no other way to make the pattern work for what she is making and she can't put a seam in it. She is not too upset because she, thankfully, had ordered more than she needed and as long as she is careful, all will be fine, but she can see how this easily could have been a big problem and they are being wasteful and sending out a strip of useless fabric to her that she can't use. In such a small size, the pattern is lost.

She doubts she will ever purchase from them again, especially after coming across their reviews on multiple platforms and I know I will never shop with them again.

For anyone who does choose to shop with them, make sure to use a credit card or debit card with good protection so that if your order is wrong or doesn't show up and fabric.com does not make it right, the card company will make it right for you and deal with fabric.com themselves. If you can, use PayPal. PayPal has amazing protection for it's users. I am not sure about Amazon Pay's protection but I know that Amazon does a great job protecting customers from problems that occur with orders on their own site. At the very least, be aware of how you can protect yourself from problems, and this is good to do with any Internet shopping you do.

Their ink cartridges are total junk unless you get the name brand, if they're really the name brand. One cartridge lasted half of what it waa supposed to. Another cartilage comes up as empty on my printer. Another worked once and never worked again.

Their review system does not allow you to edit a review after it has been written.

I do a lot of shopping on Amazon because I earn a lot of digital Gift Cards through Swagbucks. Each month I can purchase a $25 Amazon Gift Card at a reduced amount of Swagbucks so it's an additional deal for me. There are other gift cards and sweepstakes that can be entered into or the Swagbucks can be donated.

*Using this link to sign up you can get an automatic 500 Swagbucks. That's a $5 gift card just for signing up! Once the 500 Swagbucks appear on your account you can trade them in for a $5 gift card immediately. This promotion may changeover time. You can pursue earning more Swagbucks or stop. There are a lot of sites that will help guide you on how to earn a lot of Swagbucks each day.

Amazon Prime is definately not for everyone. For a long time I was content without Prime. When I started doing product reviews of products purchased through Amazon I decided it would be better to have a Prime membership. Without a Prime membership I have to have a total of $45 or $25 worth of books in my cart in order to get free shipping. This free shipping method is very slow but had worked great for us for years even though the minimum price used to be lower.

Once I joined Prime I started looking at al the other features they offer. The first feature I checked out was Amazon Music. I do not know how it works for non Prime members but for Prime members, we have a large selection of music available for streaming either through an app or the website. There are a lot of premade playlists, which is what I listen to so I can hear music I may not normally think to listen to. The selection is extensive and this has been my favorite feature because I listen to it every morning at work and no one gets sick of the songs.

Another big feature is Amazon Movies. Again, it's through an app or the website. There are many movies and tv shows available for Prime members to watch for free. Others have rental and purchasing options. The selection of free movies and shows will change out as licensing agreements expire. What is available today may not be available next week. If you create a playlist and view it on a computer you can hover your mouse over the titles in th playlist to see when they will be removed. After getting Prime I decided to get the Amazon Fire Stick, which we now have two, so I can enjoy Amazon Prime Movies better. We also sideloaded them wth Kodi. I use a lot of my slow shipping $1 digital credits for movies and seasons of my favorite TV shows.

For readers, each month there is a list of 4 to 6 soo to be released books that are offered to Amazon Prime members. Each Prime member can choose 1 free book. Sometimes there might be an option to choose 2 but I haven't seen that but I didn't know about this feature until recently. There are some other features but those are the main ones and the ones I use most.

Prime Pantry is another feature. It isn't a favorite for me. They offer select items at a lower price for a $5.99 shipping fee. Every month they provide a code for free shipping on a Prime Pantry order if you purchase 5 items from a selected list. The code can be stacked with a Prime Pantry credit from slow shipping. Each box can fit a certain amount and more than that creates more boxes and more shipping fees. These boxes can get heavy! There are some great deals in Prime Pantry and if you take advantage of coupons and codes it is very valuable! These boxes do not ship as 2 day shipping.

Obviously, the main feature of Amazon Prime is the 2 day shipping and free shipping. The 2 day shipping has some exclusions. Some items may need to be handle differently by carrier services so there might be a delay. If it can be sent by air mail there might be a delay. Sometimes an item may be out of stock and Amazon knows it will be arriving very soon or it has arrived but hasn't been put out in the warehouse yet. Amazon knows these things and most of the time their computers are able to come up with a delivery date based on all the input and previos shipments. On the final ordering screen prior to checking out you can see the expected shipping date. On occasion the estimated shipping date on the product page may be off. That information is based on a generalized shippment but when you go to check out it may change because it's going to a different address as a gift or the current address is not the main address on the account. After the order is placed something may cause a delay such as the inventory being off and the product isn't in that warehouse so it's coming from further away or your order was the last one and the order picker realizes it is damaged. There will be an email letting you know of any changes of the estimated delivery date, later or sooner. Most of the time I recieve a shipping sooner notice so it appears that the computer over estimates those situations, whatever it may be.

If you have a range of dates for the expected delivery date, then it is likely that it was purchased from a 3rd party seller. Very few exceptions exist for this which one is that the order is a preorder and another is that the item is out of stock and Amazon doesn't know exactly when to expect it. 3rd party sellers that don't use fulfilled by Amazon do not have 2 day shipping. If they do use FBA, not all their products may be FBA.

Once it has shipped the countdown begins for 2 day deliveries. Even though USPS deliveries everyday except some holidays for Amazon and UPS delivers on Saturdays, Saturdays and Sundays aren't counted as business days. If the order was not a slow shipping order and the package arrived late Amazon is usually really nice about providing compensation once in a while. This usually includes a month extension on your prime, a refund of any shipping costs, and/or a small promotional credit. Amazon uses a variation of package carries and sometimes they even use 2 carriers for one package. These are when they ship the package through a parcel company such as UPS and UPS hands it off to the local USPS office to be delivered with the daily mail. If the UPS driver is scheduled to be in the area that day, they may just deliver it themselves. UPS gives the option for an upgrade at a fee to have UPS deliver it. USPS has a contract with Amazon to have Sunday deliveries for their packages. This helps most USPS offices anyways because if they skip a day, the following days are very heavy on them.

Each carrier had a large variety of complaints and Amazon always gets threats from customers threatening to shop elsewhere if they refuse to stop using a certain carrier. That won't be happening because the majority of customers are happy with their services. My carriers are all great.

Amazon Prime has been a great benefit for us. We can order any time we want, which we do. I usually use slow shipping because I like to help ease the congestion at Amazon and the carrier's facility. Plus I love the credits, even the $5.99 pantry credit.

Again, Amazon Prime is not beneficial for everyone so I highly recommend weighing out the pros and cons. You can sign up for a free 30 day trial to check it. If you are a student with an edu email you can try a 6 month free trial and enjoy discounted Prime after that.
*
If you sign up for a trial please make sure to cancel it if you aren't interested because it will auto renew. If it does, Amazon will refund you. If you cancel midway through your membership Amazon will prorate a refund for you if you ask.

I'm not a huge Amazon shopper because their prices are generally higher than my other options but I always check. I do have Prime and love using their music app. I also like the movie and tv show apps and I even have a Fire Stick which is side loaded. Customer service about order issues is great.

As for shipping, I'm literate enough to understand that if something may not be in stock or that it may not be sorted into the warehouse yet and that there may be a delay and shipping times start when the packages ship. If I am not a Prime member then I won't receive as fast of shipping because I can't get faster shipping than those who pay for the faster shipping option. That would make no sense! I know that a package isn't late until the expected delivery date has passed. Amazon can shipping the day before the expected delivery date and still get it on time many times. I know to double check the expected delivery date on the checkout screen as that will show me the date and if I choose to procede, that means I accept that day. It does not mean I see the date but hope it arrives sooner and if it doesn't I throw a fit. Also, this delivery date will tell me if a third party seller is in another country. If the expected delivery date is a range of 2 weeks 3 weeks out, it is not in my country.

Amazon does have some add on only items. These will only be able to be purchased with orders over $25 sold and fulfilled by Amazon. It can include all add on only items. These items aren't big sellers and cause losses by making them available to be a single item delivery. Instead of increasing the price, they offer it as an add on item. Would you drive 20 miles to the store to purchase a pack of gum? Most add on only items have a list of other sellers on the right hand side. These are either higher priced or have a shipping fee. Sometimes the add on only item will ship by itself if it's in a different warehouse than the other items. This doesn't make the add on only feature a waste. That means the entire order made shipping and handling it not be a loss for them.

The rest of their customer service departments are not helpful. Reports aren't taken seriously and often ignored. They allow abuse in their forums and also allow some very nasty posts to be posted as well as bullying and public shaming while removing the dumbest of things.

There is a group of nasty, dirty, hateful old ladies and a some men that think these women are the fake photos they share who spend their entire day looking for reviews to make fun of. They then share them on the forums so others can go look and downvote that reviewer. They write nasty comments on the reviews and Amazon allows it. People should not be afraid to write reviews.

Other forums are fool of the most disgusting posts with inappropriate language and subjects. Amazon allows in even though it looks horrible on their behalf. Is it that their reps don't understand English enough to know that eating poo isn't an appropriate topic.

Also, Amazon allows fake profiles that are attacking sellers and products for no good reason. They write rude questions and reviews even though they don't own the products. With heaps of evidence sent to them, they still let these nutjobs play on Amazon.

Lastly, Amazon is removing reviews and reviewing privileges of people they believe are violating their TOS but many people never violate their TOS and lose their reviews while people obviously violating their TOS and having been reported countless times are free to write their garbage reviews.

Amazon priorities are a total crapshoot. After my Prime membership is up I am going to be cutting ties with Amazon because I won't be out anything. I can get my items elsewhere with no problem. They have gotten their priorities so out of whack lately and out sourcing their employees isn't helping them with these issues as they don't understand English when you contact them.

Since I have been scammed by Scambucks aka Swagbucks I no longer support any of their sister sites and cannot recommend their sister sites when I have been ripped off my Scambucks. It's not ethical.

My Gift Cards Plus is still pretty new and so they don't have a large selection of businesses but the ones they do have I have started taking advantage of.

My Gift Cards Plus is part of Swagbucks so they always offer Swagbucks for GC purchases. Sometimes they run promotions so that you get a specific amount just for the purchase plus the amount of Swagbucks that corresponds with the value of the GC.

It can take 2 hours to 48 hours for the GC to be emailed to you or the recipient. It's digital only so you will only recieve an email. Afer the first purchase they will send a postcard with a code in it to validate your account to make confirmation faster in the future. I have waited 4 hours to 8 hours so it wasn't so bad once I learned not to purchase it last minute.

The best part is that if I go back to Swagbucks and follow the shop now link for that store and make my purchase with that GC I get Swagbucks for the purchase. Not all purchases like this will get points though and there is no specific information about which will work. Swagbucks doesn't always allow Swagbucks to be earned on orders paid with a GC or sale code. I always run my purchase through Swagbucks just in case!

An examples purchase I recently made: I was ordering something from Sears that came to just under $330. I purchased $325 worth of GC and paid the rest on my debit card. Swagbucks had a promotion of an additional 100 swagbucks just for a purchase so I ended up with 1,125 Swagbucks for the GC purchase plus 545 Swagbucks for the Sears purchase. Part of the Sears purchase did have a warranty so I believe that didn't count toward the Swagbucks. That's almost $17 back on a purchase that I ordinarily would get nothing back for.

If you work through other sites and have other promotions available to you through those sites or your credit card, Swagbucks may not be the most beneficial way to go so I highly recommend checking everything out before making your purchases.

My Gift Cards Plus is still pretty new and they don't have a large variety of GCs to purchase but they are adding on often. I use eBay a lot. I wish they had Amazon since I do a lot of purchasing on Amazon.

I'm very satisfied with my experience and highly recommend.

Use at your own risk. There's far too many complaints of rip offs from sellers and even Mercari. They're out of Japan so most people have very little recourse options. Read the reviews. They stay in business because they're banning people and keeping the money they have in their accounts.

  • Glassdoor

12/16/14

Glass door is a great idea but it's poorly ran & paid off. First of all, if you have a bad experience you tell 7 people but if you have s good experience you rarely tell anyone. Keep that mind on any of these types of review sites. That's common sense. Also, use common sense when reading the reviews. It's easy to tell a real review from a disgruntled employee.

As for my 1 star review it's because Glassdoor excepts some sort of payment or trade for filtering out reviews. They allow some things in some company reviews but not the same in others. They review some company's reviews with a fine tooth comb while allowing complete gibberish to be written in others. There's only one reason to do this & that's because they're receiving some sort of payment. I've seen a lot of reviews disappear as well as have read complaints about them disappearing. Of course they deny any sort of doctoring or being paid but common sense proves otherwise.

UPDATE: I am leaving my original review up so you can see what a fan I was but I now call them Scambucks. I am owed $35 in gift cards after spending my own money on their promotions. I have emailed them proof that I signed up and am getting no response. I have even contacted their Facebook page and get a canned response and no reply after that telling me to go to the very people who aren't responding. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Do not spend real money with these Scam artists and mske sure to take it out on the vendors promoting their businesses on their site. After all, if it hurts their bottom line they will stop paying Scambucks to scam us.

On top of that their surveys are a huge scam. They get all your info and everything needed for the survey then claim you don't qualify when you spent 45 minutes filling it out. Bull! They obtained free information.

UPDATE: I have started using Swagbucks even more lately. I go through Swagbucks to some of my favorite stores such as Amazon, eBay, Sam's Club, Bath & Body Works, Sears, J. R. Cigar, Thompson Cigar, Nike, and so much more! There is now a Giftcard site through them called My Gift Card Plus. You get Swagbucks for purchasing Giftcard for the businesses they currently have and are adding more. Then you can purchase through Swagbucks link to the store and get points from the purchase as well. The only downside is that it can take 2 to 48 hours to get the giftcard.

I love Swagbucks. It took me a couple years to figure out how to earn on it but now that I know I am enjoying the extra money every month. I usually cash out $25 to $75 a month in Paypal gift cards which can be put right into my bank account if need be. I participate in the Encrave mainly as well as running the apps that pay to watch short videos. There are about 5. If you meet your daily goal every day for a month you get an extra 300 points. There's a second daily goal as well. It can be tedious but if you're a stay at home parent, disabled, or work part time then it doesn't hurt to run these apps while watching TV or doing other things. Always check your swagmail every day because they offer you quick tasks to earn small amounts. I have only done one pay offer through SB which took me to an offer on Living Social for a Sam's Club Plus Membership for $45 with a $20 gift card & about $20 in fresh food vouchers on top of 450 Swagbucks so I paid 50 cents for the membership! I was rewarded my 450 SB!

If you haven't tried SB yet give it a try! http://www.swagbucks.com/refer/Silvrcraze

Tip for consumers:
Download the apps & run them daily. You can meet your dailies with all the apps.

  • The Animal Rescue Site

12/14/14

This past month I made my first purchase through the Greater Goods Store. I had originally found them through the Breast Cancer Site. My best friend rescues animals & I didn't have a clue what to get her. I help her cause but wanted something for her. I bought her a bunch of different shirts, a fleece jacket, & a door mat. My order came with a few freebies as well. In the end she is getting some fun Christmas presents AND it provided almost 100 bowls of food. I am glad my purchase can make a difference.

Shipping was decent for the time of year. Everything came nicely packaged. If it smells it can be washed. Everything is treated with chemicals these days to keep all the different warehouses from sending you their bugs!

As with all internet purchases read the fine print to know their return policy.

  • FocalECig

12/14/14

Focalecig has great prices on vape products. They are out of China and have a warehouse in America as well as Germany. All my products have come out of China and have arrived pretty quickly for coming out of China. I'm actually quite impressed with the speed.

Their website is a little difficult to work with but if you know exactly what you're looking for it's a great option!

  • Vapingcheap

12/14/14

Great website to keep you up to date on current sales of vape products as well as a lot of useful information provided about vaping products. They work really hard to keep all the information up to date & keep track of the wonderful sales.

  • Bath & Body Works

12/14/14

I've recently placed a couple orders online for the first time. I have steered clear of their site because they charge for shipping & it was easier to shop in the store but I hate shopping this time of year. Also, they had a good deal & coupon codes happening so I gave it a shot. I also knew all the scents I wanted & like so that made it easier too.

Their shipping was a little slow but overall I'm very happy with my order!

  • OkCupid

12/14/14

This site actually has a lot of potential in my book but unfortunately there just aren't a lot of active men in my area. I get contacted by some serious creepy dudes that have nothing in common with me.

For starters, they have you answer a lot of questions & rate how important the response is in the other person. I find it great to know immediately if someone isn't for me. I also enjoy calling men out for saying it's sexy to see 2 women making out but they also say they're very into their Christian religion & don't support gays. Can we say hypocrite? Anyways, if everyone fills out the questions it's extremely helpful & the site even gives you a percentage of how much of a match you are.

Since this site isn't very active in my area I haven't dealt with any crazies yet to know how OKC handles those situations.

I'm giving it a 3 because I know OKC could have a lot more members in my area so they need better advertisement. They have a great idea but need to get it moving again.

  • DateHookup

12/14/14

If you want to be harassed, stalked, & possibly murdered then this site is for you! They have absolutely no control over their accounts. Some men make a new account daily to harass women who've rejected them. They send inappropriate photos to strangers. You can block a user easily BUT you can't block their next account until after they make it & send a bunch of nasty messages. When you contact DH they tell you to block the abusive user. Well duh but like I said they keep making new accounts! They need to ban IP's like any site that cares about the safety of their users does!

Overall, this site is full of a bunch of horny losers that think because a female is on a dating site she must be desperate & is obligated to want them. They suddenly have gulls they normally wouldn't have & approach females they would never approach in real life. Really, a 25 year old doesn't want to date a 55 year old! A lot of very angry men on there that made me run away fast. Sorry, I don't want to die! Then all they do is whine about not being able to get laid on their Facebook like wall.

That brings me to their set up. There's a wall. The opposite sex in your area are the only ones who can see it. The men think it's a truck stop bathroom wall where women are suppose to advertise themselves, not chat. There are friend requests. Who wants to see who their potential date chats with? It's the most ridiculous feature I've ever seen on a dating site.

  • FastTech

12/14/14

I love this site for all my vaping needs & some electronics. The prices are great for someone on a budget but shipping from China can take a few weeks. Certain items can take longer. Also, customs can pull packages to further scan or even open. Our packages are being handled on their time, not ours or Fasttech's. I've had to deal with a return & they handled it excellently. The only downside was that communication took longer because I was replying to them while they were asleep & they were replying to me while I was asleep. A couple small items came in damaged so they refunded me or shipped a new one in my next order. I always read the reviews of products first because they're all made by different companies. Some are items that didn't pass QC so they're sold off cheaper. I haven't purchased any high end electronics from them though.

  • RetailMeNot

12/14/14

I always check retailmenot prior to buying anything. I usually end up with some savings & am always grateful. It's easy enough to copy & paste the code into my order screen if I'm ordering online. If I am trying to use it in store I make sure there is something that shows me it's a store coupon. Like with most coupons, not all stores are obligated to take them. Like my store has coupon out for other areas that can't be redeemed at my store. Always read the fine print & if it's just a code, not a coupon from the store, call the store first and ask. It's not that complicated. Also, if it's a popular company you can see if people reported it as "worked for them" or not.
